The sound of a ball hitting the ground echoed inside the gym. Yachi squeaked at the loud noise before timidly turning over the flap.

Everyone was left wide-eyed. Even Coach Ukai and Takeda, both of who had stepped inside the gym five minutes into the game. Futoshi, Hideaki, and Y/N stood on the other side of the net, having just shut down Hinata's and Tobio's quick as fast as it came.
"Phew! What a workout," Arima said with a grin as he stretched.
Everyone came out of their state of shock. Just then, Hinata let out a prolonged yell, startling everyone. He had stars in his eyes as he looked at them from his side of the net. "How'd you do that?! That was amazing!"
Y/N stepped off the court, going over to where Tobio stood. He smacked his back hard, making Tobio snap out of it. The younger Kageyama was about to yell at whoever had done that, but stopped when he realized it was his brother.
"That was pretty good."
"Uh..." was the only sound that came out of Tobio's mouth, not knowing how to take the compliment.
But he didn't have to because Y/N was quick to slide in another remark. "Needs more practice though."
Tobio pouted and looked away. "Whatever."
"Hey." He turned to face his brother once more. "If you settle for mediocre, you'll never improve. Got that?"
Tobio didn't know what to say in response. "Uh... Yeah. I got it."
"How long have you and Ginger known each other, anyway?"
"Ginger...? Oh. We... met this year."
Y/N was genuinely surprised by that answer. "Really?"
"Yeah. Is that so much of a shock?"
The (h/c)-ette glanced toward Hinata before looking back at his brother. "Functional teamwork is ultimately built on trust. You have only known each other for a little while. That kind of thing, that trust you two have. That takes years to form."
Hinata overheard that and began to lean a bit to the side, trying to listen to whatever praise Y/N could possibly give him. "Is that so?" Tobio replied, a bit shocked as well. "So then--"
"If you want my honest opinion, your quick is mediocre, at best."
Hinata grew offended at that until the older Kageyama spoke again. "There's definitely room for improvement, but... there's no doubt that you guys have a good tactic on your hands. There are infinite possibilities. But, it's up to both of you to make them happen."
Their conversation was then cut short by F/N's announcement. "Y/N! Coach is looking for us!"
"Okay," the (h/c)-ette called in response before turning back to Tobio. "There are two days left. Better make the most of it."
He didn't wait for a reply and began to leave with the rest of his teammates. "Thanks for the match, Sawamura. It was fun."
Daichi was surprised to hear Matsubara's captain say that. But his words left a smile on his face. "We had fun too."
Nishinoya, who was still talking to Hattori, made Y/N stop at the entrance. "Hattori."
"Coming, Captain! Hold on!"
"How do you react like that?!" the second-year asked. "It's like lightning or something! You move so fast!"
Hattori chuckled. "It's all about reflex. I'll show you some other time, hopefully before training camp's over. But I gotta go now, so until next time, Noya!"
