The air around Oikawa grew thick. He felt short of breath and couldn't move his feet. It was as if they were glued to the floor. With wide eyes, he watched as Y/N's feet lifted off the ground as he jumped. His hand inched towards the surface of the volleyball, the force of his hit launching it to the other side of the net.

Still, Oikawa couldn't seem to move. No matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't find the ability to move in the desired direction.

Move, stupid legs! Come on!

But, he had no time to react as the ball rushed down and made hard contact with the floor. "Captain! Nice kill!"

Some of the teams from other schools started to shout at Aobajosai. "BOO!"

Matsubara's coach, who was sitting on the bench, smirked to himself. "That kid sure does live up to his nickname... It never fails to amaze me."

"He's an incredible athlete, that's for sure," the faculty advisor added, observing the game intently.

Matsubara's first-year manager, Naoki Azumaya, watched in fascination from the stands. His hands gripped the railing.

The whole reason I wanted to go to Matsubara was because I wanted to meet him. Y/N Kageyama... The living Satan.

--

The match was now just minutes from being over. Even so, Oikawa's team had barely gotten any points in. To some, it was surprising. But to others who knew of the team's capabilities, the results were to be expected. Y/N splashed some water on his face, his bangs damp from both the water and his sweat. F/N made his way to his spot, watching as the (h/c)-ette joined him.

F/N had heard the whole thing between his friend and the captain of Aobajosai.

"As their captain, yeah. I do think my team is better. Is that so unusual?"

"Then prove it."

"In the practice match against my team. Prove it to me. That your team is better. If you win, I admit that your team is the best. But...if my team wins, you'll admit that you're nothing but a cocky bastard in front of everyone."

A grin made its way onto F/N's face. Excitement coursed throughout his body as he clenched his hands into fists.

Y/N, you stone-faced son of a bitch... You do have pride for our team.

Oikawa clenched his teeth in frustration. He couldn't believe what was happening. His irritation grew, even more, when he caught a glimpse of Y/N's smirk from the other side of the court. It was clear that he was taunting the brown-haired setter.

"Tch..."

As Y/N's spike was sending the ball down to the other side of the net, Oikawa acted instantly. But as he did, he immediately stopped in front of it, completely frozen in place.

What...?

His eyes widened as he saw the ball pass by his head for the second time and hit the floor beside him, creating an echo that bounced off the walls of the gym. There was a momentary silence before a whistle went off and the crowd began cheering. Oikawa's gaze trailed over to the (h/c)-ette's. Y/N looked back at him, his (e/c) eyes seemingly piercing through him.

The Matsubara players then began making their way off the court. Oikawa watched disconcertedly as Y/N walked by him.

"Thanks. I just added another soul to my collection," he said, chuckling darkly.

He then stopped in his tracks and turned his head slightly to his left. "A word of advice, Captain. Don't start something you can't finish."

That was the last thing he said before following behind his teammates as they headed to the locker room.

--

Y/N stifled a laugh while F/N died from amusement, leaning his head against his friend's shoulder, not being able to control himself.

"This is so embarrassing..." Oikawa mumbled as he clenched his fists around the pompoms he held.

"Shittykawa," he heard Iwaizumi say from beside him.

He turned his head to see Iwaizumi's harsh glare. "I'll kill you after this."

Oikawa gulped, his face turning even redder when he noticed that the few girls that had come along to the training camp were giggling.

He sulked, "This is hurting my dignity..."

"This is all your fault, Shittykawa...!"

With embarrassment, and most definitely against their will, they started to cheer.

"Matsubara is the best! Aobajosai lost the bet! Go! Go! Mat-su-bara! Go, go, Mat-su-bara!", they chanted while dancing out of sync.

The team burst into a fit of laughter, making everyone else laugh. Though it was embarrassing, a few thought the sight was adorable. Regardless, Y/N had a sadistic grin etched on his face, satisfied as he watched the scenes unfold before them.

--

Some of the team members from Matsubara had decided to stay and watch the rest of the teams play the last few scheduled matches. Y/N sat with his hands in his pockets as the last game finished up. As soon as it had ended, he stood up and slung his bag over his shoulder.

Hinata turned his attention to the captain. He was leaving the gym with a few of his teammates following close behind, talking amongst themselves. The rest were mingling with people from other schools. In fact, some of them seemed to be close friends with those people.

His brown eyes then caught a glimpse of the back of the captain's hoodie. "Ya...ma?"

He couldn't quite make out the rest of his name because it had been covered by his bag. Upon looking at the rest of Matusbara's players, he closely observed those who were also wearing a hoodie. Each had a name embroidered on their back, just like Y/N. He assumed their hoodies had their last names embroidered on the back.

But, his mind strayed away from the many last names. Instead, he thought back to the match he had witnessed earlier. He jumped up in the air out of excitement. He wanted to play against Matsubara's captain as soon as possible, and there were two reasons for this.

One, Aobajosai lost to them in a mini-match! Like, come on, Aobajosai! Aren't you better than that? And two, he wanted to know what it was like to play against the supposed 'Living Satan' as many referred to him.

Tobio narrowed his eyes on Hinata. "What are you so excited about, dumbass?"

He immediately turned to look at Tobio with sparkles in his eyes. "Don't you wanna play against the living Satan, Kageyama?!"

Tobio looked away from the hyper ginger and, instead, looked out at the court. He did indeed want to play against this newfound opponent. The wing spiker seemed to have so much talent and raw power. It shined through in the way he played. Seeing how easily he could bring Oikawa down to his knees... He couldn't wait for their scheduled match against Matsubara.
