Chapter 44

After Kuroo showered and changed, he dragged M/n to where he saw the Ferris wheel. Tetsu #2 had been left in the care of F/n.

"Could you watch him for a bit?"

"Sure, but..."

"What?"

"I see you and Kuroo made up~ Didn't I tell you things would be okay?" F/n said as he leaned on his friend.

M/n pushed him away. "Don't get a big head over it."

And now, here they were, waiting in line for the Ferris wheel. M/n looked up at the giant Ferris wheel and at the people around them.

There sure are a lot of people here today... Ugh...

He glanced at Kuroo out of the corner of his eye to see a smile on his face. The middle blocker turned his head to face M/n, a grin tugging at his lips.

"Are you excited?"

He's so happy...

"Yeah."

"Good, cuz we're next in line after them," he responded, referring to the people in front of them.

I just hope I don't run into the others...

He kept looking around until his eyes landed on three guys who knew very well.

Hattori, Chiba, and Arima.

M/n internally panicked. "Next in line--"

At hearing those words, the h/c-ette immediately began pushing Kuroo towards the Ferris wheel. "Wait-- M/n--"

M/n paid the man before shoving the middle blocker inside the red car. The man, though confused, closed the door. M/n sat down, slumping down in the seat. The Ferris wheel began moving as soon as Kuroo sat down. Once they were a bit up high in the air, M/n peeked. Thankfully, it seemed as though the three had not spotted him.

"I was going to ask if you were that excited to get on, but you're looking down below. What's wrong?"

The h/c-ette sighed. "I saw some of my teammates down there. Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't want them to see us, or else they'll be laughing it up during practice," M/n said, his eyes darkening, "I'll be damned if they start poking fun at me. I have enough with you, F/n, and Naomi."

Kuroo put his hands up defensively. "Okay, okay. I got it."

Just as he finished saying that, the car stopped. Kuroo stood up glanced out of the window to see that they were at the top. He turned to M/n and motioned him over. The h/c-ette was hesitant but got up and stood beside him. His eyes widened at the sights laid out before him. It was as if he was seeing it all for the first time.

A small smile sprouted on Kuroo's face as he looked at M/n's expression. "Is it your first time seeing all this? Despite living here for almost three years now?"

"I..." M/n began, his eyes glued to the scenery around him, "I guess I never did take the time to look around Shibuya... I've been so absorbed in volleyball...my health...the issue with my family...and about what I was going to do after high school, that I...didn't really think about much else..."

He then turned his head to look at Kuroo. "You have a weird way of trying to get my mind off things, but...because of that, I've become more aware of the things I'd come to ignore or not care about as much..."

"I opened your eyes then, huh...?"

"I guess you could say that..."

The car began moving again until they reached the bottom. The door was opened and they stepped out. Kuroo made sure they were hidden in the crowd as they passed by M/n's teammates.
