Chapter 7*

"Well then, since we're all here, why don't we play a two-on-two practice match?" Kuroo suggested, a grin tugging at his lips.

"Two-on-two?"

"Unless Ushiwaka wants to play as well~?"

"I'll pass," Ushijima responded, walking away.

"Well then, it's settled. Y/N, Bokuto, Yuji, and I will play a 2v2 match."

Terushima waved his hand. "Sorry, but I'll have to pass too. It's too early in the afternoon to be jumping around the court, keeping up with Y/N."

With that, Terushima also left, leaving only Y/N, Bokuto, and Kuroo.

"I figured they'd leave," Bokuto said, disappointed. "Ah, man! And here I wanted to play against Ushiwaka!"

"What about you, Y/N?"

"Sure, I guess. I've got nothing else to do at the moment."

"Good! Then, to even the odds, we'll do two-on-one! Sound good?"

Y/N shrugged, not really caring. It took a second before Kuroo's words registered in Bokuto's head. Then, he turned toward the middle blocker.

"HAH?! Two-on-one?! How's that fair?"

"Ah!" Kuroo said, spotting a familiar blond middle blocker. "Look, there's that guy with glasses from Karasuno!"

Bokuto immediately stopped and raced off towards Tsukishima, who was alone at the moment. "Yo! Tall dude with glasses!" he yelled, waving his arm in the air.

An annoyed expression came over Tsukishima's face as the owl captain approached him. "Hey, hey! Join us in a practice match!"

"Huh?"

His golden-brown eyes trailed from Bokuto to Kuroo and Y/N, who both stood a little ways away. "So, what do you say? Will ya?"

Tsukishima sighed in annoyance, just wanting to be left alone. "I'll pass."

"Eh?"

Bokuto watched as the tall middle blocker walked away from him. "Well, guess it'll just be the three of us then."

Once it was settled that only the three of them would be playing, they headed toward the gym Fukurodani was assigned to use. However, it was currently empty as individual team sessions had been called off for the day. 

"Bokuto-san."

They all turned to see Akaashi at the doors of the gym. It seemed he was there to talk to Bokuto. But before he could say anything else, Bokuto spoke up.

"I choose Akaashi as my teammate! That way, it's even!"

"Huh?" Akaashi said, confused as to what he was being chosen for.

"Come on, Akaashi!"

"Wait--"

Bokuto then dragged the black-haired setter inside. "Now, it's two-on-two!"

"What's going on? I only came to see if you were practicing alone–"

"We're playing a 2v2 match," Kuroo answered with a grin, putting his hands on his hips.

"What?"

Before anything else could happen, Akaashi took notice of Tsukishima, who had appeared near the doorway. "Oya?"

Bokuto and Kuroo also noticed and grinned smugly. "Oya oya~?"

"Oya oya oya~?"

"Don't get the wrong idea. There's something I'd like to ask you. May I?"
