"Let's go, Sera! Koa's waiting on us!"
With a roll of her hazel eyes, her ears felt the vibration of Kaleia's loud mouth shouting over the bass of her speakers as she pulled into the driveway. Her window was open and could easily here the music that sang words of profanity, something to common in this day in age as Sera finished getting ready.
Dressed in a black, asymmetrical crop top and a pair of flared of denim jeans that hugged onto her torso to her thighs, she put on a satisfied smile as Sera glanced into the mirror one final time before slipping on her shoes and heading towards the door. It was the first party at Koa's for the summer, and with the inkling of someone she knew being there as a possibility, she wanted to make a statement, even if it were for the wrong reasons.
A blush formed on her face at the thought of Orion and their last encounter, a forbidden friendship with the potential of ruining all her others, especially with Jonah. But, for some reason, she couldn't help herself from wanting to speak to him more, the thought of Orion being enticing as it was to her mind like a drug. It was wrong, but it felt good to do wrong.
She sighed before shutting her bedroom door behind her dressed frame as the heels of her black boots clicked against the wooden floors. The sound followed as she went down the stairs, holding onto the railing to keep her balance in check as anything with a heel typically sent her body flying.
As soon as she was on the first floor, both of her parents turned to look at her who were sat on the living room L-shaped sofa that felt like a cloud. They smiled at their daughter, all dolled up and looking her best as she gave them an overly theatrical pose before letting out a stifled laugh.
"You look good, baby." Naomi said with a smile as Sebastian shook his head.
"Trying to give me a heart attack, are ya, squirt?" He joked, but there was truth in his jest.
Sera gave him a look as she shrugged her shoulders. "There's no fun in the game without a lil pain."
"Lord save me."
Both Sera and her mother laughed as Sebastian groaned in horror then turning his eyes back towards the screen where an old, black and white movie played. While her parents stayed situated on the couch, she took herself into the kitchen to retrieve her keys and wallet she had placed on the marble countertops.
"Text me when you're home or if you're staying with the girls. Just stay safe and update us when you can, that's all I ask." Sebastian said to Sera as she walked towards the front door, the heels of her boots clicking against the wooden floors with every step.
"You got it. I love you guys, see you in a bit." Sera said with a smile as she pushed the front door open, then being met with the warm breeze of the already late night.
