"You think Jonah will win tonight? He keeps on going on about how the 'Gods' are in his favor..."

Sitting on the edge of the trunk of Koa's truck along with Kaleia and Cherry sat Sera, her eyes watching the bystanders walk by and to their seats for the race. Some walked to their cars parked on the edge of the road, some dressed in clothing that matched their paint job to extend their excitement further.

Sera rolled her eyes as she found a man painted in all pink from head to toe, even his hair dyed the bright color as he wore only a cape and a pair of pink boxers. It matched his brightly colored old fashioned mustang parked at the beginning of the race, a newcomer to Koa's track as his presence would be easy to recognize.

"What Gods? The man can't even commit to a girl let alone a religion." Sera laughed as she turned to face the girls as they chuckled along with her.

"He's overly confident tonight. Maybe he has some liquid encouragement." Kaleia suggested.

"Or leafy encouragement." Koa piped in as he leaned down, his beer stench breath fanning over their faces.

This time it was Cherry's turn to roll her eyes as she blew smoke out of her juul taped in yellow smile faced Band-Aids. "Is he really that dumb to get high before this shit?"

Shrugging her shoulders, Sera's eyes glanced over the people who stood on the sidelines by their cars, or the watchers there to watch the race. Her mind was only skimming, but her heart was searching for a mop of curly brown hair, or the old car she found herself growing to love more and more. But he wasn't there, his existence hidden or nonexistent in tonight's match.

She wanted to ask Koa if he was going to be competing, but she refrained herself. Any sort of curiosity towards Orion in the public eye would put her to shame with her friends. She knew the consequences of her relationship with Orion being discovered, but Sera couldn't stop this aching urge to be in his presence more and more.

Ever since their first day together while floating in the water, staring into the eye of his camera, she found herself intrigued by the mystery man of Hawaii. No words described this desire burning in the pit of her stomach, or how her orbs always searched for his in any public situation.

"Well, I'm gonna go find my brother and jack him of his weed. I really don't feel like driving him to the ER." Cherry said as she pushed herself off Koa's truck, her converse feet hitting the concrete ground with a thud.

"And if you're the one who's gonna be driving Jonah to the hospital, I think I better accompany you." Kaleia laughed as she followed after Cherry who went to go find her influenced brother.

It left Sera and Koa to themselves as he took the empty seat next to the blonde lost in thought. Her hazel orbs continued to search for its primary target, only feeling defeated when Orion was nowhere in sight. Not even his car could catch her gaze, making her feel worse without even comprehending it.
