After hours of letting herself drown in work over at the sanctuary, Sera found herself submerged in the depths of the ocean. Her body was engorged by the water that softly crashed onto the shoreline, letting herself fall into a realm of peacefulness after the last twenty-four hours.
Finally, her mind was at ease as she floated with the current, her body resting in the tepid waters as she stared up at the sky that was lightly decorated with stars. The night was still young as the sky was continuing to change color, dark shades of purple and pink slowly turning to a blackish-blue. Like a painting did it supply beauty to catch the eye of anyone who would come across it, especially Sera.
Over by the shore did Honey rest, watching her owner like a guard as she let her enjoy this moment of silence. Like a shadow did Honey follow her whenever Sera was around. She was her companion, her left hand pup to all the shenanigans that would occur on the property.
Sounds of her parent's music could be heard from the house standing on stilts whilst they cooked dinner for the family. Chatter was nothing but muffled, their laughter hushed by the soft breeze that brushes the palm leaves that hung high in the trees.
Scents of flowers and the sea combined into one, engorging Sera's nostrils as she breathed in a deep breath before exhaling slowly, letting all her stress and worries melt away like butter. But peacefulness could only last for so long as the roaring of an engine came to life from her home's driveway before it was turned off, followed by the slamming of the door.
Scrunching her eyes in confusion as no guests were expected to arrive this evening, Sera retreated from her peaceful state as she no longer floated on her back but swam to shore. Her body shivered as it exited the tepid waters as she skipped over to her towel that rested on the sand. She grabbed it quickly, wrapping it around her shivering form before her gaze being directed to a set of feet pacing their way in her direction.
With her blonde locks drenched and clung to her neck, she looked upwards to be graced by the last person she wished to see. A look of distaste grew on Sera's face before rolling her eyes and beckoning Honey to follow her. She wanted to disappear into her home and avoid the visitor as if they were the plague.
But sometimes things don't work out in you favor.
"Sera!" A voice called out to her as Sera pretended she didn't hear their voice but continuing to walk up the beaten path to her home. "Sera! C'mon talk to me!"
Sera rolled her eyes again before a hand gripped onto her wrist, turning her body around abruptly bringing her eye to eye with the man of the hour, the man who began her misery. Jonah.
"What do you want Jonah?" Sera said with a lack of emotion in her voice.
"C'mon, Sera. You know I feel awful." Jonah said as he gripped onto her forearms before Sera shrugged him off all together.
