It was her fifth-year. Aside the incoming war her parents decided it was best for her to stay at Hogwarts and how terrible of a decision it was when Dumbledore died. Voldemort took over and she did what she do best when death eaters ran the school: blend.

She sat through terrible classes and followed stupid rules without batting an eye for her own safety. It must be the Slytherin in her talking, Self-preservation and all that but it's what she's also been taught.

"Acacia, Always keep your head down. Never make eye-contact and speak only when spoken to."

She had to be the perfect daughter to her family because she knew the truth, She will never be good enough and that's because she's a mere replacement.

Her older sister died at 10 years old and she followed, Carrying her name as her second like a constant reminder that she's only there to fill the void of her sister's death.

At a young age she learned that if she followed she would please her mother but not once did the stars shine in her eyes whenever little Acacia did well.

The girl was capable of doing more, She can rival Granger if she wanted to but she's afraid that even if she did surpass the so-called 'Smartest Witch' in Hogwarts nothing would change.

That if she went ahead and outdone herself, Her mother and father will never see her more than the replacement for Brielle Ruth Fallencrest.

She'd spent the nights of her sister's birthday and death anniversary crying alone in the dark. Their house would be gloomier than usual- not that it was ever bright to her- and her parents would refuse to even glance her way.

She lived in the shadow of her dead sister. So she's decided to live in the shadow of everyone else.

"Hey Fallencrest! How's your DADA essay coming?" The redhead looked over her shoulder to see Parkinson ready to snatch her work away.

Without a word she handed her the parchment and walked away, Hearing Parkinson mumble a lazy thanks while Zabini watch her figure leave the common room.

The Slytherin bully could've easily tormented any Gryffindor they had D.A.D.A with but she liked the idea of someone willingly surrendering at her feet. The fellow student on her right with the name of Blaise Zabini was merely interested how a student, a year younger than them, is perfectly capable of doing Pansy's homeworks for her.

Acacia can't even recall how it all started but she was somehow happy with doing Pansy's homeworks.

She gets a taste of what future lessons will be and she's got something to do to pass the time. The girl doesn't have friends, She simply never made any so she have no plans on weekends and after classes.

She never made friends for they might make her stand-out, A group of people will always find themselves in trouble so she flied solo.

She used to enjoy doing Parkinson's homeworks but now they're a load of rubbish. Death eaters can't teach for shit and that's for sure, She had to make a ten page essay about the importance of blood purity for Muggle Studies and hated every living moment she spent on it.

She had to force herself to say things she would never say and write cruel words on a piece of parchment that made her want to throw up every second because she didn't want Pansy's bullying.

Pansy bullying her would lead to humiliation and with humiliation cam attention. She doesn't want that.

If you've read this far then you should know by now that Acacia Bree Fallencrest is shallow, She's got no personality at all because she spent her 15 years camouflaging into her surroundings.

"Oi." She stopped on her tracks, She turned to see Blaise Zabini standing before her. She figured he would be another addition to the list of essays that needed finishing.

"What is it?" She asked with a calm voice, Her tone has never been altered ever. She doesn't remember the last time she was angry or sad and her voice expressed it.

Must've been so used to faking her entire existence that even her voice is as plain as a piece of sliced bread.

"I just noticed your hair." He commented and Acacia's eyebrow rose up in confusion, It was such an odd thing to say specially that they have never spoken.

"Are you in any way a Weasley?" He asked and the redhead's jaw dropped in disbelief. Are other not allowed to have red hair?

But all her confusion and questions disintegrated when Blaise smirked, "So you do have emotions." It was on purpose. He baffled her to see how she'd react.

Blaise Zabini is never really given enough credit because the green in his robes is to not be underestimated. He knew his way with words and never really acted on anything unless he's sure of the outcome.

"What?" The only word she can make up because her legs itched to run away from him, This is the longest he's talked to a boy and that fact was embarassing but what's worse is that she secretly liked the fact she managed to catch the interest of the collected Slytherin.

"Nothing." With that, He turned around and entered the common room as if he didn't just waste both his and Acacia's time on a question about her red hair.

That night she fell asleep with dreams about a pair of hazel eyes that bore into hers with a loving stare.

Then the forbidden forest coming into view but it was the morning and she's walking around, She seemed to be searching for something and she found stag.

It mirrored the way she tilted her head to each side and the action almost made her chuckle but the smile that broke on her lips made the stag run away.

She was then alone in the forest til the seemingly normal dream morphed into a nightmare.

It consisted of screams, People yelling spells and a high pitched voice laughing loudly. A flash of bright golden light and the dark mark and she's awake, with a racing heart while she pant heavily.
