Natalie's POV
"What are you doing here?" Xukun asked me with wide eyes. His breath was as heavy as mine, like we had just run the marathon. His chocolate eyes wandered around the room as the expression on his face change from afraid to horrified.
Taking advantage of his temporary disorientation, I quickly ran pass him to the front door and outside. Like I had thought, I was in the middle of nowhere. In front of me there was a never ending forest that I dived into taking it as a better option that staying with Xukun.
I was running through the forest not caring about Xukun's screams behind me nor the fact that my feet were bare.
"Natalie! Wait! It's not as you think it is!" he yelled but I didn't stop. I didn't even thought of it. "Natalie!" the desperation in his voice made me want to believe in his innocence but my mind wasn't going to give in.
"Natalie! Be careful! There are a lot of traps for wild animals!" he shouted and I laughed to myself for his lame attempt to stop me. Words were pleading to get out of my mouth, but not wanting to waste the precious energy, I kept quiet running as fast as I could.
As my legs were getting heavier just like my eyelids, two pair of arms hugged my waist tightly turning me around. The strange rustle hit my ears but because of the strong embrace I couldn't move.
"I told you there are traps," Xukun said and I slowly look behind him to see a net hanging on a tree with some dust inside. It could be me...
"Let go of me!" I stated firmly trying to get free thought I knew I had no chance against him.
"No, because you'll run away again and it's dangerous. And you have already got lost in the forest once," the boy responded chuckling slightly while I rolled my eyes.
"First of all, I'm sure I would be safer in these woods alone than in your house with you. How sick can you be if you played a cop just to kill me later? I knew I shouldn't trust you. And second of all, it was in the middle school!" I said not looking at him while his grip on me tighten a little before loosening again.
"Listen, I know it looked like that but you didn't see it all. It's a bigger picture. I'm not a murderer," he explained while I tried to not to fall for that again.
"So why did you have all those photos? And mine in it? I'm not the victim, oficer," I answered gaining a deep sigh from Xukun.
"It's because I think you can be the victim. Listen...this case can be related to the one I'm working on," he tried to convince me but I still wasn't sure.
"How can I know you're saying the truth?" I asked and the boy turned me around to him still holding me in his arms.
"Trust me, I'll tell you everything. Just come on. I don't want to carry you there but I'll do it if I have to. Beside do you have a better option? You have no chance in getting out of this forest so you'd end up dying anyway," he said with amusement in his voice. He was right. Maybe at least he will make my death less painful...
"Okay, let's go. But you can carry me...I'm tired," stated and he shook his head chuckling kneeling down in front of me. Not wasting time I hoped on his back and put my arms around his neck.
"So...you can start explaining now. If you don't start now, I'll think that you used this road to think of an excuse," I said gaining a deep sigh from a boy.
"Okay...I shouldn't tell you this, but I will, I don't have a choice. You remember when I told you about this drag and a guy that is elusive? So...his nickname is Nahc and that's all we know about him. But the thing is...there is something that media doesn't talk about. The drug that they find in every victims' body. Women goes missing first, because probably they do some experiments on them. Then they use them and left them somewhere not leaving any trace behind. We think that Nahc can be connected to it," he explained while I was listening carefully to every word.
