Chapter 17 - Plot twist

Xukun's POV

"So are you in for a race?...I don't take no as the answer." V stated making me unable to move. Why did he want to do that? And how did he know about Natalie and driving? No one had never talked about it there.

I had told her to do that three years earlier but back then I had control over everything. Now that V was asking it could be something really dangerous. Taehyung wasn't the type to give in easily and what more to go easy on his opponents.

I looked at Natalie who wasn't surprise at all as if she had already expected that kind of a question. Her eyes full of determination were looking right into Taehyung's which were full of satisfaction and amusement.

That was the first time I totally didn't know what to do. I couldn't let her take part in it but on the other hand I couldn't try to protect her since it would be suspicious. What should I do know? I could feel my breaths getting heavier as my hands getting sweaty as I tried to think of a resolution.

I couldn't wait any longer I knew I had to say something because the silence had been lasting for definitely too long.

"No, it's not a good idea," Jisung suddenly said coming closer to us. He stood between Natalie and V with fear evident on his face. Maybe he wasn't a good boyfriend but in some way he still cared for Natalie.

V laughed bitterly as if he'd been waiting for this kind of reaction. I squeezed Natalie's hand hoping that she would understand my next move.

"It was fun last time don't you think so, Jisung?" I smirked ominously glancing down at the boy. His expression changed slightly to angry one but I ignored him and continue. "Listen V...I even know how to make it funnier, since you probably know that last time Natalie was riding with Jisung against me...maybe now we change roles? I will go with Natalie against Jisung and the rest?"

A small mischievous smile appeared on V's face as he was taking in consideration my great offer. I knew there was no way Natalie will get out of it with me not being caught or hurt so that was the best solution I could think of. With me in one car I could help her get through it and with Jisung being near she was even more safe.

Jisung relaxed a bit as if he understood my intentions. He knew that I wouldn't try to kill myself so with me in one car Natalie was quite safe...at least as safe as me what seemed to make him feel better.

"Interesting...hmmm...what do you say Natalie? And again...I don't take no as the answer," V said smirking proudly to himself. I didn't let go of Natalie's hand and even gripped it tighter.

"Great," Natalie answered coldly as V smile got wider.

"Fierce...I like it," the boy commented and I somehow managed to prevent myself from sending him the murderous glare. I smirked instead and glanced at furious Jisung. His fist were already getting white as I was wondering if it was because of me or V...or maybe both of us.

I took Natalie to my car and looked around making sure that no one would hear us.

"Natalie, listen...last time it was different. Now there will be like seven other cars...it's a real race not a duel. Now it's really dangerous so you have to trust me and listen to me, okay? I'll explain to you everything later on but now...just trust me," I said holding her shoulders tightly as if she was about to run away or break down into milion pieces.

Her puzzled eyes met mine wondering if I was trustworthy or not.

"I guess you won't get us killed...let's just go," she finally declared and I hugged her gently but she didn't do it back. "I didn't say I trust you, I'm just not stupid. I still don't know what is your intention, but I know I won't die...because if I die you'll die with me."
