INTRODUCING HICCSTRID AND RUFFNUT

Astrid and Ruffnut were lounging lazily in the Arena on bales of hay after grooming their dragons. Now Barf, Belch and Stormfly were swallowing down fish for dinner.

Ruffnut's eyes were at the sky, looking for fairies, and they looked down to catch on Astrid's neck at a darker, purple looking mark. Ruffnut narrowed her eyes suspiciously and squinted to look closer. There was a fainter, red patch nearer to the jaw and two small dents under that look like bitemarks...

"Aaastrid," Ruffnut said dubiously, scooting her butt over and Astrid turned her head to Ruffnut's voice only to get a mocking accusing finger to her face, pointing to her neck. "What's that?"

Astrid's eyes widened and she pinched her face and her face tightened as she tried to come up with an innocent explanation for something not so innocent...

"It's, uh, it's a...mosquito bite." Astrid said quickly but smoothly, but that didn't persuade Ruffnut. She knew what a hickey looked like - Snotlout would suck himself and say he got a hickey. Tuffnut would roast Snotface, saying he was so lonely he had to give himself a hickey to make himself feel good. 

"Uh-huh." Ruffnut deadpanned, unamused, but smirking, it was so incredibly obvious it was a lovebite. Astrid's fluster and embarrassment was something Ruffnut was enjoying very much and she wanted to prolong it.

And it was magical, Hiccup walked into the arena right then and there, it was a perfect moment, Ruffnut couldn't believe it. 

"Hey babe." Astrid's eyes lit up and called over happily, straightening up and watched him eagerly as he strode over.

Ruffnut rolled her eyes, it's like Astrid became a different person around the one legged skinny fishbone. She's...happier. (HAHHAHA REMEMBER YOU GUYS GOING CRAZY ABOUT THE SONG HAPPIER LOL IT MADE MY DAY.)

"Milady." Hiccup reached them and circled his arm around her shoulders, kissing her cheek. "Ruffnut." Hiccup greeted as he pulled away.

"Hi, Mosquito." Ruffnut snicked, grinning cheekily and mischievously, waving very pointedly at Hiccup. Ruffnut mentally patted herself on the back, that was very smart.

Hiccup cocked an eyebrow at the nickname, confused, and Astrid hissed. 

"Huh?" Hiccup asked, looking at Astrid with big, bewildered eyes with was quite adorable, he looked like a lost puppy.

Ruffnut playfully poked at the bruises on her neck and Astrid swatted her hand away, scowling. Hiccup got the message and stifled a laugh behind his blushing cheeks.

"I'll explain later." Astrid grumbled, ignoring Hiccup's cheeky grin and shot Ruffnut dirty look before shooting up to her feet, grabbing Hiccup's hand to head out of the arena to their date.

"Don't give her more mosquito bites!" Ruffnut cupped her hands over her mouth and called.

"No promises!" Hiccup called back audaciously, and Ruffnut clutched her stomach in laughter and at the same gagging.
