you guys wanted it...

It was early morning on a Day at the Edge. Hiccup, Astrid and Fishlegs were studying a few of the images the Dragon Eye produced from the new lenses they obtained when Astrid saw a picture of a Deathsong in one of the books she was reading through. She felt a pang of melancholy, it's been months since she'd seen him and his parent were freed from Krogan's men. She wondered how Garff was doing, and the adult Deathsong, who needed to have healed from the nasty maltreatment of the flyers. They were reunited from months of seperation and Astrid remembered tearing up at the sight of their reunition and out of the moment threw herself into Hiccup's arms.

"Hiccup?" Astrid walked up from the table and over to the other side of the clubhouse, where Hiccup was, studying a projection on the wall. His face was scrunched up in concentration, with his eyebrows knitted and eye narrowed, his tongue poking through his pursed lips. He looked so impossibly adorable when he was focused, Astrid had to poke his cheek.

"Hiccuppp." Astrid jabbed his cheek. Hiccup jolted, jumping back a step and fixed her with wide eyes. Astrid crunched up her nose and pouted. She stepped forward and Hiccup instantly extended his arms, getting the message that Astrid wanted his arms around her. She didn't say anything, Hiccup just knew.

Hiccup enfolded his arms around Astrid's middle and cuddled her close. Sometimes, at the most random and insignificant moments of the day, Astrid would literally squeeze herself into Hiccup's arms, and Astrid knew Hiccup had to objections to her barging in. He'd happily give her as many little cuddles and bear hugs as she wanted whenever. Astrid remembered just last week, while Hiccup was giving the gang a rundown of chores, Astrid decided to casually walk up to her boyfriend and straight up hugged him from behind. Hiccup's orders abruptly stopped to turn around hug her back. Astrid loved the way Hiccup just dropped everything for her sometimes. And it was also amusing when the gang started to gag.

Astrid pulled back after a good few seconds. "Can we see Garff again?" She asked, fixing Hiccup with the biggest, most innocent and tempting blue eyes she could muster. She knew too well she could make guilt Hiccup into almost everything.

Hiccup looked at Astrid with surprised eyes. The topic was random at it's finest.

"Garff?" Hiccup repeated, his eyebrows raising. His fingers continued to stroke her spine.

Astrid nodded earnestly. "Yeah, who else? Garff! Can we see him again? Pleaseeeee?"

Hiccup blinked and then paused, tilting his head as he started to come up with an answer. Then slowly, a smile spread across his lips. "Of course." Hiccup told her, his eyes twinkling. "It'd be nice to see how Garff and the adult Deathsong are going." Hiccup swept his gaze over to Fishlegs, who had courteously averted his eyes from the couple. "Hey, Fishlegs?" The chubby boy spun around to his name and Astrid could see small veins popping in Fishleg's neck as he fought the urge to squeal at Hiccup and Astrid, who were still very much in each other's arms. "Do you mind just doing this on your own? Astrid and i are gonna go on a little visit to see Garff."

Fishlegs broke into a grin. "Of course!" He exclaimed, nodding. "Go ahead, Meatlug and i will have lots of fun, won't we girl?" Meatlug warbled in agreement.

"We'll be back before sundown." Hiccup said as he looked out into the sky. The sun was rising between the top of the sky and the sea's horizon. "In the meantime, you're in charge."

Fishlegs waved Hiccup off. "No one would believe that anyway." He deadpanned.

Hiccup chuckled, his chest rumbling under Astrid's. He untangled himself from Astrid's cling, but took her hand after and started to lead her outside to their dragons with an excited beam, which Astrid shared too.
