So this takes place at the end of the battle in httyd3. I changed it up. Enjoy :)

Astrid's heart stopped. She knew this feeling all too well, when she felt her breath hitch in her constricting throat and her eyes widen as she took in the sight in front of her. Astrid couldn't hear her throat ripping scream from the ringing from her ears and her heart thumping wildly in her head.

Hiccup's grip slackened around the Light Fury's head and Astrid felt like someone doused her in gasoline and lit her on fire as gravity pulled him down into the pitless ocean beneath, Grimmel clutching onto him from below.

"HICCUP!" Astrid screamed.

Hiccup looked peaceful. Serene and calm as he watched the Light Fury save Toothless. A pang of pride for the young chief struck Astrid, knowing Hiccup would sacrifice anything, including his own life, to save his loved ones. Astrid remembered every time there was a confrontation or battle Hiccup would be in front of her in a matter of seconds, growling protectively, making sure he was hurt first before she was, even if it meant he would be slashed to an inch of his life. Astrid knew she was perfectly capable of taking on ten warriors to herself. But sometimes she just smiled warmly and stood there, and watched with her heart expanding in her chest as Hiccup took down men like stepping on ants before he spun around to Astrid with his gorgeous smile and asking if she was okay. Her answer would be a well rewarded kiss.

But as much as Hiccup was calm and collected he could be reckless and impulsive, especially under pressure, making half thought out decisions that may hurt more than help. Like defying orders to find Drago despite his father's warnings, his big steps to the Hidden World when at the moment it was nothing more than a Sailors's Myth. But all he wanted was the safety of the dragons and his people. The heart of a chief and a soul of a dragon...

Astrid screamed Hiccup's name as she watched desperately, as Grimmel started to pull himself up Hiccup's body, tearing at Hiccup's suit and wings, his nails scratched at his armor, leaving three white trails behind.

Astrid watched in hatred and fury, oh when she'd get her hands of that Ninja-Cabbage man, she'd gut him like a fish. But now, she just watched helplessly, which she so hated. She wanted to be able to jump the hundred meters to the falling two and kick Grimmel where the sun doesn't shine and take Hiccup into her arms and bring him to safety. For once, Astrid didn't want Hiccup to be the one who made sacrifices, like losing his father, mother, and now his dragon. Now Hiccup looked like he accepted that this was his fate and this was how he was going to go down, saving what he believed in for more than six years.

And then the Light Fury, thank Thor she came around, like Astrid knew she would, Hiccup got everyone to warm up to him eventually. Just before the dragon took Hiccup into her paws Hiccup unlocked his prosthetic and down it went along with Grimmel, plunging down into the oceans beneath that ensured Grimmel the Grizzly will never emerge.

The agonizing seconds that Astrid felt like were the scariest moments of her life ended as Hiccup was yanked out of free fall and up into the air by the Light Fury, soaring up to safety of the islands.
