*3 months later*
Delilah laid in the hospital bed, shocked to hear the news that she was pregnant with her second child. Of course she loved the thought of carrying another one of Rod's children, but she wasn't expecting it to be so soon.
In the next room, Marge had also just found out that she in fact was pregnant as well. This was news to her, because she didn't even consider the idea of ever being pregnant again, since she was in her forties. She didn't know how Nicolas would feel to hear the news, or Delilah... How would she tell them?
It had been a long night for both ladies....
*3 hours earlier*
"Girl, I told you I would be here at 8, and you're still not even half way dressed yet." Marge took in Delilah's appearance, seeing that she still had rollers in her hair and a towel wrapped around her body.
Rod and Nicolas had taken the baby out for the night, so the ladies thought they should go out for dinner some where.
"I'm almost ready momma, I just need to throw on my outfit, and pull the rollers down. I'll be ready in no more than 5 minutes." Delilah rushed over to the rest room.
Just as she said, she took no longer than 5 minutes getting finished.
"Hm. Impressive." Marge smiled looking at her daughter who looked like the spitting image of her when she was her age.
The ride to the restaurant the ladies caught up from the last time they saw each other, which wasn't but a couple weeks ago, but they acted as if it had been months. They talked about their men, Aaliyah, and Marge's job.
"Your table's ready." The hostess grabbed two menus and leaded the ladies to their table which was directly in the middle of every one else. They didn't mind being the center of attention though, they looked damn good.
"So, how's wedding planning coming along?" Marge grinned, knowing she had already found some stuff she wanted to know if Delilah would like in her wedding.
"It's fine, just hard, because you know I have no friends, so there's no bridesmaids." Delilah didn't know how to feel about never making friends to grow up with. Her only friend was now Rod, which was a good thing, but also she needed other people to be around sometimes. The thought of working came to mind. So she could get out and meet more, but seeing how trying to find a job last time went, the thought quickly escaped her mind. One day, she'd bring the thought to Rod's attention again, but she kinda already knew what to expect from him on the topic.
"In all honesty baby, a wedding doesn't need "bridesmaids" and all that extra stuff. As long as you're marrying the person you are absolutely in love with, nothing else matters." Marge smiled thinking about when she married Nicolas. They were practically alone in their ceremony as well.
"Would you like to go dress shopping with me next week Ma?" Delilah knew her mom would say yes.
"Of course." Marge's heart got warm. She was forever grateful that their relationship had gotten to this level.
The rest of the dinner the ladies talked strictly about the wedding. Delilah was nervous, but she knew she had nothing to worry about as long as she had Rod.
"What do you know about this?" Marge turned up the radio as Luther Vandross "If This World Were Mine." Played.
"Absolutely nothing." Delilah chuckled as her mom sung the slow tune. Nobody except Delilah and Nicolas really knew that Marge had a beautiful voice. She was just always afraid to use it. They never understood why.
It began raining pretty hard. "Where the hell did this rain come from?" Marge rolled her eyes and turned on her windshield wipers.
Marge was a pretty good driver, so she had no issue with driving on the slippery road.
Just because Marge was a good driver though, didn't make the other people on the road good drivers too.
All of a sudden cars started to press their breaks. The chain reaction happened too fast for Marge to slam her foot on her breaks in time enough to not go crashing into the back of the car in front of hers.
*Present Time.*
"Aye Dad, we gotta go." Rod jumped up after receiving a call that Delilah was in the hospital. "Delilah and Marge been in an accident."
