Once everyone was there, Temari had everyone sit in a circle boy girl boy girl. How she had them Sarina was stuck between Gaara and Kankuro, Temari could see that Sarina was more than pissed at being close to Gaara but shrugged it off as she told them how it was going to work. They'd pass their gifts to their left then one by one they'd open them. Once everyone was done they'd play a game staying in the same order.
When Temari gave the signal Sarina passed the gift she got for Kankuro to him as she felt a heavy wait on her lap that came from Gaara. Temari had Kankuro start them off-what Sarina got him was a box that had a figurine he had to place together. She knew how much he liked to toy around with things, placing them together and taking them apart. His eyes lit up seeing it before he looked to Sarina before hugging her tightly. "Thanks!"
"Not a problem-I've seen you take things apart too many times Kankuro. Hopefully that'll keep you from being too bored." Sarina said happily
Then Sakura who sat beside him had opened her gift-slowly one by one all of them got to open their gifts. Some were sentimental some were gag gifts. When it came to Sarina who was the last person, Sarina could tell that Gaara was staring at her sadly. She sighed out before she opened the messed up wrapping paper. Once she finally got the mass amount of tape off of the paper she saw it was a box which she had to open.
When she opened it she saw a scrap book of some sort inside of it. So she got it out only to see when she opened it all the pictures that he had taken of the two of them plus written memories of the two of them together since he had first saw her when she was still abused and hurt. She flipped through the pages and teared up looking at them knowing that they were happier times. Times where she was ignorant to the hurt and betrayal that she'd get when she was with him.
Sarina couldn't finish looking through the book as she shut it-she soon sobbed out in her hands. The repressed emotions she had in her came out-she never wanted to cry in front of Gaara but his gift did just that. Kankuro comforted her as Gaara opened it to the last page. "Please read this before pushing it away."
Sarina had wiped her eyes after pulling away from the hug from Kankuro. "Did you want me to read it to myself or out loud?" Sarina asked sniffling a bit
"Out loud if you can Sarina...please?"
She nodded her head as she sniffled once more. "O-Okay it says 'This book of memories is the only thing that I can give to someone as special as you are. I know that forgiveness is something that I don't deserve from you-I hurt you. It was wrong of me to have done what I had to you, you told me to think and chose and you were right to say that I chose wrong. If I could rewind time and chose differently I would in a heart beat. I wouldn't have waited all that time to tell you just how special you are to me. But I had and that was one of many mistakes that I made, you deserve someone better than me but I can't get over you. Now I'd like to offer you a similar deal that you had made me months ago-to think about if being apart from me is something you truly want. You have till the new years eve to give me an answer, if you chose to never give me a chance again then I won't talk to you and being friends would be something we could never be. If you do chose to give me a chance, I'll be as a friend until you feel like you could find your way to love me as you had once more.' " Sarina said focusing more on the words than the male that wrote it
Once she was done reading she looked to Gaara with her eyes narrowed. "You really are out to hurt me aren't you?! How dare you do this to me!? Don't you realize what you did-did to me you selfish brat?! I did nothing to deserve what you had done to me and you think by writing some note after reminding me why I'm how I am now will do you any good?! You have another thing coming Gaara! I didn't accept being a part of this damn thing to be reminded that you're an asshole! I came here to spend time with my friends! But even that's impossible-keep your damn book of horrors, I'm leaving."
Sarina got up before she went to get her boots on. While she did Temari got up and went to stop her. "Sarina please-Stay."
"No, as much as I want to I can't." Sarina said shaking her head
Temari sighed out and rubbed between her eyes. "Gaara has been really depressed since you left out-I hear him crying in his room every night that he wasn't with that other girl. He really misses you, he-I think realizes that he fucked up real bad and that he wants you back. Please..just hear him out. Give him a chance to show you that he isn't all bull shit."
"I'm not going back to sitting in that circle-no way no how." Sarina said shaking her head.
Temari smiled. "That's fine-I have a better idea. Wait in his room for him, what I have plan will make him go up there."
She sighed. "Fine, I'll go up there but if he tries anything on me I'm yelling for you or Kankuro."
"That's fine."
Sarina took her boot off before she quickly but quietly went up to Gaara's room. As she waited for Gaara she saw a notebook on his desk, which made her curious so she began to read it only to see that it was a journal of thoughts. Going through them-She was able to finally figure out just what was going on inside of Gaara's mind. As she read the entries she realized how much she was totally wrong about Gaara, it made her want to cry once more. She covered her mouth with one hand as she read the entries.
