Gaara didn't understand why she was running from Sakura, Sasuke and him. Did his words hurt her that much? It upset him that she wouldn't even let him get anywhere close to her let alone speak to her. As it got darker they had to call it quits for the night. But they started up again early in the morning due to it being a weekend. Gaara started off by himself at first, he needed to find Sarina-he couldn't sleep without knowing that she was okay.
He had been scolded at by Temari and Kankuro about how he had being so cold and mean to her. Temari explained the note that Sarina had left on the chocolates she threw at him-what he thought about the note was true. She had liked him, he was just damn stupid to figure out the fact that she was trying to cheer him up at least a bit. Gaara realized how much he had messed up with her and was in self guilt because of it. So he did whatever he could to find Sarina.
He tracked the way that they had gone when they found Sarina the day before-he stopped when he had gotten to the bridge. Temari had told him that she must have fallen somewhere due to her legs still being weak from the crash. He kept that in mind while he was looking for her only for him to make his way down the hill and under the bridge to see the young brunette curled up shaking in her coat. His heart broke seeing her in such a state.
Gaara slowly went up to her and he knelt down to her as he placed his warm hand against the side of her face gently. "Sarina...please wake up."
She did shortly afterwards as she blinked her eyes a few times. Only to realize that Gaara had found her, she slapped his hand from her and tried to get up but he caged her with his arms as he looked to her sadly. "Please..can't we talk Sarina?"
She shook her head as she tried to get out of being caged but he wouldn't let her go. So she pushed against his chest only to have him hold her cold hands within his own hands. "Sarina...Please. Just hear me out. I'm sorry."
"No you're not! I know you meant what you said yesterday! I'm just a monster! I've been around when too many people have died! I shouldn't have gotten close to anyone! I should have just ran when I saw you and your siblings before, I don't want to be the blame for death anymore! Just let me go!" Sarina said depressed as she sobbed out
Gaara couldn't believe just how bad her depression had gotten because of the emotional words that he had said to her. He knew that she wouldn't be so forgiving so soon. He knew the words he spoke before were burned into her small little mind, he shut his eyes as he sighed out. He then opened his eyes and he pulled her closely to him. As he did so he kissed her on the lips, her lips were chapped and cold against his but he knew that it was to be expected.
Sarina was frozen as she felt his lips against hers, sure they were warm but she didn't understand why she felt so warm and fuzzy around him. He hated her right....so why was he showing affection to her? Why was he trying to get her to stop crying? She soon gave into her own feelings for Gaara as she kissed him back as tears silently fell down her face. Gaara was more than happy to feel her kiss him back as he brushed her brown hair away from her face. "Sarina, I truly am sorry for going off on you. I shouldn't have said what I did to you-I should have been more concerned about you. Temari told me about what had happened with you. You didn't get out of the hospital till yesterday-which I didn't know about till she told me. I should have known better than to say such horrible things to someone who I've been trying so hard to gain the trust to just so I can be with them."
Sarina blinked her eyes a few times. "G-Gaara...S-So you...You really like me back?"
He chuckled a bit. "Yeah I do. Even though your note was cheesy I should have seen it coming. So how about it Sarina? Think you can stop hiding now and come back home with me?"
She blushed and nodded her head. "Y-Yeah...I...I'd really like that Gaara."
Gaara then carried her back up the hill and over the bridge where he met up with Sakura and Sasuke. They were surprised to see that Sarina was smiling as she was on Gaara's back. Sakura smiled at Sarina though. "I guess this means that things are okay now?" Sakura asked curiously
"Yeah, things are alright. Isn't that right Sarina?" Gaara asked as he looked back to the brunette on his back.
"Mhm, I'm okay now. Thanks for being concerned about me guys....I'm really sorry about running off. I just...I felt really depressed and I didn't know how to deal with my own emotions." Sarina said as she placed her face against Gaara's shoulder
"Well you're in good hands Sarina you should be okay now. But let's get out of this snow, I'm freezing!" Sakura said as she was rubbing her hands together
The two males agreed and they went to Gaara's place where he made cocoa for the four of them. As he did Sarina spoke with Sakura and Sasuke since she hadn't seen them in a week. She found out that the two of them were a couple which made Sarina rose an eyebrow at Sasuke.
"Hypocrite."
"Yeah-yeah...I know. But I didn't think she'd seriously do what she did though." Sasuke said as he rubbed the back of his neck embarrassed
"Well you got yourself a keeper Sasuke, she's a really kind and wonderful person. I just hope you don't screw things up with her." Sarina said as she leaned herself against the side of the couch.
"I'll try not to-even though I make my elder brother envious." Sasuke said with a sigh
"Maybe he can learn a thing or two from you. You're smart, kind, and you a fairly friendly. Which is more than I can say about him." Sarina said seriously
"Mhm, I'll agree with that. If he was a bit nicer he'd be able to get a girl no problem. Both of you have the same looks but it's the personality that makes us girls swoon." Sakura said with a smile
"For me it's sorta like that-I just adore Gaara in general." She said with a grin
"Wait-you and him are a thing now?" Sakura asked shocked
"Yeah, why else would I have been carried by Gaara for?" Sarina asked confused
Sakura just sat there in utter shock as Sasuke smiled at her. "It's good to see that the two of you are on better terms than before."
"Mhm, I'm glad too...I just don't know when I'll be able to say those words to him." Sarina said with a sigh
"This is your first relationship so it'll be a while-you two are going to have to built up the trust you two had before again which'll take time." Sakura said with a smile
"Yeah...There's only one thing I'm concerned about." Sarina said with a sigh
"Matsuri?" Sasuke asked
She nodded her head. "I don't want to get bullied by her." She said sadly
"If she does we got your back. No worries there." Sakura said with a grin
"Alright." Sarina said weakly
Gaara then came back into the room and he brought his elder siblings as well. Kankuro and Temari both hugged her before Temari pinched her cheeks. "Ouchie! What was that for?!" Sarina whined out
"That's for running off! Next time something bad happens you come to me got it?! I might still be a teenager but I'm the closest thing you got to an adult now. You can come to me whenever things get hard for you to deal with alright?" Temari said seriously
Sarina rubbed her face as she nodded her head. "O-Okay."
Gaara then sat beside her as he handed her a cup of cocoa, she thanked him as she leaned herself up against him. She then just listened to the lot of them talking as she drank the cocoa to defrost her hands from being outside for so long. She soon finished her cocoa setting it on the table before falling asleep on Gaara.
After while Sakura noticed that Sarina had fallen asleep and told Gaara about it only for him to carry Sarina up to his room to sleep. Which he then too fell asleep beside her as he got comfortable beside the brunette female wrapping his arms around her gently.
