As I sat in class waiting for Dante, this red-headed girl walked up to me with a look of rage in her eyes. "Why have you been getting so close to my Dante?" she snarled at me, while she got up in my face. Geez, ever heard of personal space, woman?

"First of all woman, I ain't getting close to 'your' Dante. Second, we are just friends. Now, back off and give me some space." I replied with a firm tone of voice.

"Why you!" she exclaimed as she threw a punch right at my face.

As I prepared for another Impact from her fists, when I heard a voice that stopped all this chaos. "Nicole!" Dante yelled when he saw the situation. I clutched my now black and blue eye, trying to get the pain to subside. "What in the name of Irene are you doing to (Y/N)?!" He rushed to my side, inspecting the damage as instinctive tears rolled down my cheeks. He is really mad... I gently guided him away from me, insisting that I was fine.

"Dante, it's okay, I'm fine. Just a little bruise, it doesn't even hurt that much. Thank you for caring, though."

"Nicole, why would you punch (Y/N)? Do you know how much trouble you could've been in if a professor saw?" She looked even angrier than before.

"It's not like I'm gonna get in trouble. But since you're wondering, (Y/N) and I were practicing some self-defense." Nicole replied to Dante, and I wasn't going to stand for that excuse, so I shook my head. I stood up and I tried to tell Dante the truth, but Nicole cut me off. "She needs faster reflexes."

"Nicole, shut the hell up, and let
(Y/N) talk." I told Dante what really happened, his face getting redder with each word, and Nicole's face got paler with each word.

After I told Dante what happened, we all sat down for class, and waited a good ten minutes before we all guessed professor was sick and left. Before I got the chance to get up on my own, I was yanked to my feet by a blue-haired bird-brain. I tried to pry his hands off of me as I mostly walked along but was also slightly dragged, out of the classroom, into daylight, past my dorm complex, through the park, and into the woods near the college before he released my arm, which in the meantime had fallen asleep and gone slightly pale. I rubbed it with a grimace as I got a good look at Dante's face for the first time in the past ten minutes. "Are you okay?" He mumbled as he began inspecting my arms, face, and mouth, probably to see if Nicole landed any more hits than the one he saw. I grabbed his wrists and pulled them together in front of me.

"Dante, I'm perfectly fine. I would've told you if I was in more pain, honest." He looked down, slightly upset. "Oh, and," He looks up and into my eyes. "Will you be my knight, Dante?" He blushed, and I saw him say something, but I didn't hear it. I decided not to push it as I stared at the ground, embarrassed about even thinking about the question. Irene, I'm such an idiot for even thinking about asking. He probably thinks I'm weird now and- my thoughts were cut off as I felt a finger hook under my chin, pulling me up to meet a pair of ocean blue eyes staring into my duller, gray ones.

"Only if you promise to be my princess." He said it so quietly I almost didn't hear him, I froze, looking around for other people, somebody who may be telling him to say this, signs of a prank, a joke, but it was just me and him. I smiled and hooked my arms around his neck, bringing him into a hug.

We stayed there for a bit before he brought me back to my dorm, all the while chatting about random things, but there was never an awkward silence or mention of something, everything was just... okay and comfortable.
