I carefully stood on my legs, them looking like twigs from being in a cast, and I had a bad habit of picking at scabs absentmindedly, which would be bad in this case because I was in the infirmary for blood loss, a few broken bones, and a concussion. I began to lean forward, my legs following a little before I fell.

The next time I tried walking, I waited till Dante was out of class. I stood on one end of the room and he stood halfway; my instructions to him were to slowly back up so that it only felt halfway. I braced against the wall as Dante got to the halfway point, and held out his arms, smiling encouragingly. I leaned forward again and decided on toddling back and forth on my legs, leaning forward to walk. "C'mon, just a little further, princess. You can do it." He cooed teasingly. I could feel myself blushing, then I decided to attempt a faster pace. I was able to do so, but Dante wasn't expecting it, so I crashed straight into his chest. I felt my knees buckle, but I never fell as Dante spoke. "Don't worry, princess, I won't let you fall." Then I heard something I don't think I was supposed to hear. "And if I do, I'm comin' with ya." I smiled and we spent the next few days practicing.
