I hug him, but noticed that only about half of my vision is gone. I slowly help Dante figure out what I wanted to ask about and he told me that I was a guinea pig for an experiment. They apparently removed my eye and messed around with the 'wiring' in it, and now it has the ability to see again. I smiled best I could and messed with the remote for the bed, getting it to an angle where I could fall forward on Dante and have him catch me with his lips on mine.
I executed my plan and it went perfectly, I reveled in the feeling of kissing him again, pure joy going through my heart. I use my functional eye to point at my 'dead' one, asking about it. He told me they, the doctors, were fixing it right then. He put his hand in mine and squeezed as the doctors came in and gave me a sedative, probably for a surgery to regain my sight.
A few hours later, I am woken up. I was groggy and grumpy until I saw Dante. This time with sort of full vision. I could see the back of my eyelid, meaning that it had worked. I felt a smile go across my face, but I noticed that there were more tubes, and Dante seemed anxious. I faintly grunted and squeezed his hand, hoping my eyes were asking what was wrong. He just shook his head and smiled before he spoke. "Did it work?" I smiled, trying to change my facial expression to 'yes'.
When he smiled in response, he called for a nurse and asked if it could possibly be okay to wheel me around; the nurse shrugged, and after a while, she came back with a smile, instructing me to go limp as possible as to not cause me any pain from weak muscles.
As she and Dante put me in the wheelchair, I look around, and spotted the bandana I used to over my eyes wear on Dante's other wrist. I smiled again, but when I saw the stairs, horrid memories flooded my mind; the shoving down the stairs, the pain, the crying, and most of all, the memories of waking up in an unfamiliar place.
I began to shake, my fingers tapping on the arm before letting out a yell when I felt a sharp pain on my leg. My scream made the nurse jump and Dante bump into her from behind, sending me into the air and onto the ground in seconds. I felt a sharp pain and a quiet pop inside my head before crying out in pain, my hand going for my eye that was bandaged. I used my good eye and saw that there was a clear liquid on the floor, mixed with something to make a pinkish liquid on the floor.
In an instant, Dante was by my side whilst the nurse called for backup. I blinked and I saw a green glow on his hand that was touching mine, I blinked again and it was gone. I had no clue what was happening, and had guessed his voice was echoing in my head. "(Y/N), you gotta stay with me. Don't leave me, okay?" I blinked and he smiled, grabbing my hand and applying pressure to the area where I realized it was full dark, and my brain came full circle as I thought. My eye popped. It didn't sink in at first, and I was completely at peace until I couldn't feel Dante's hand anymore. I tried to call out, but my lips weren't moving.
"Code blue, code blue; we're losing her." A doctor called out, and I felt shocks of stars go through my body as they kept calling 'clear'. I didn't understand, but I understood that when they did that, I could feel Dante's hand again. I gripped as hard as I could as tears and something metal smelling poured down my face out of the fear I had in that moment. I began to see black, and it scared me, but Dante spoke again.
"Don't be worried, they're taking you to the ICU. Go to sleep, I'll be right there when you wake up, okay?" I nodded off at his reassurance, still frightened I would wake up in the Guard House, with Katana Dante.
