It has been a week since Dante pulled his trick, and no one had noticed, but he has been avoiding me too. Isn't that a good thing? Why do I want to go tell everyone I know, and by everyone, I mean my stuffed animals? I shook my head and got out of bed, into one of the informal outfits my parents picked out.

(Insert something like jeans, converse, flannel, and a flower crown. Something you'd wear to school but a little fancier. The crown cuz your parents are royalty.)

Better than having pajamas again. I threw it on and pulled my hair out of my face, looking at myself in the mirror, spotting the bags under my eyes and frowning. What that boy does to me I smiled and realized that if I smiled all day, my bags don't look as bad; I headed out and walked around, my class not for another few hours, but my body as jittery as it could be.

I bumped into someone, and immediately began picking up everything that had fallen on the ground, the handles of two swords giving him away. I stood up, handing him everything but his katanas, I actually kicked him away from him, then moved to hold them, as a way to keep them away.

"Why are you avoiding me, Dante? Im not giving your swords back until you give me an answer." We were near the courtyard, and even though there were people around, I was the princess, and I was mad; no one wanted to test me. Except Dante.

"And if I don't?" I looked at him with a look that said, do you really want to know, making him gulp. He grabbed my elbow, pulled me close, and dropped his voice to a whisper, not wanting anyone to hear. "Listen, I'll tell you, just not in front of people I know." He shrugged over at Garroth and Laurance, who were perking up and paying more attention. I rolled my eyes and nodded, not giving him his swords back, but I made him follow me into an alley, giving anyone who dared to follow a death stare, and a death stare from the princess is not good.

"I'm only asking one more time. Why. are. you. avoiding. Me?" He gulped again and quickly explained that someone mustve seen us because he is now being blackmailed and that person is probably watching, getting ready to hurt Dante or me for breaking the contract. Once he finished, I handed him his swords back and grabbed his hand in fear. "O-okay. That's a thing. Um.. could you walk me to class? I feel like were both safer together anyway." I saw someone duck away and grabbed his hand. "Someone followed us, and they just ran away.." I sighed shakily as I admitted it. "Dante, I'm scared."
