Prom time! Part 1

Karkat’s POV

   I wrap my arms around Dave smiling brightly at him. I mouth ‘thank you’ and he nods hugging me back. We stay like that for a while and for once I feel safe. Nothing really mattered to me at that moment. I look up to his face to see his bright smile. “Hey,” There was a hand on me and Dave’s shoulder. “Power is back on and it will be passing period once you grab your books.” I look up to see Dave’s older brother, Dirk was it? I nod a bit and release my self from Dave’s arms. Well try to at least. He picked me up and flug me onto his back. I scream a bit and hold on for dear life.

“I’mma run okay?”

“WHAT?! ARE YOU INSANE?”

“Yeah now hold on.”

“I’M HOLDING ON FOR SURE!” He then bolted up the stairs and into out class. He let me down to grab my stuff but since he carries around his backpack he flug it over his shoulder and picked me up bridal style. I calm down a bit looking up at him. “You realize how gay this looks right?”

“And?”

“Good point.” He laughs, god it’s beautiful, and starts walking.

~~Y’all it’s a time skip! Also prom time! Dave and Karkat have known each other for a little over two months so shhhh~~

    I was freaking out. PORM! It’s time! Kanaya made me a suit and Meulin helped me out with dancing. The theme for our prom was fantasy so on the back of my suit Kanaya sewed mini wings onto it. Nice detail but a little over board especially on the minor makeup she did.

**DING DONG FAM**

CRAAAAAAAAAAAP! “HE’S HERE…. MEULIN HE’S HERE!” She runs down the stairs along with Kankri and my dad. Nepeta was going with Equius so she already got picked up because they wanted dinner first. Mom was working for the prom so I’d see her there.

“(*o*) << Don’t just stand there! Open the furriking door!” I took a deeeeeeeeep (lol) breath and slowly opened the door.

“H-hey Dave..” I scanned over his outfit. Black slacks, a “winged tie” which was a tie with wings printed onto it. Earrings that fell down to have crow’s wings on them, real feathers I think. Then his undershirt was a darker red with a black tail coat. Oh hey, he’s also wearing gloves… Cool. His shoes had a slight heel on them but otherwise they were normal dress shoes.

“Hey Kark--” He stopped and what I assumed scanned me over, “Whoa, you look amazing” I snort a bit looking up at him.

“I could say the same..” Just then my dad barges in with a camera.

“OHHH! Boys! Let me get pictures!” After taking 50,000,000,000,000,000 pictures we were finally allowed to leave. Dave opens the door to his, what it seems like, a very expensive car. (I don’t know cars *-*)

“After you, cutie” I blush at the nickname and get into his car. Dave turn on the radio to alternative music. We scream the music and laugh a lot. These are the times I enjoy. He lets his roof go back the air blowing on us nicely. (I decided to make it a convertible) We rock out to music until we reach the highschool slowly turning the volume down.

“Holy shit…” I look over to see out friends screaming at us and whooping. “Oh… my… god…” I laugh a bit as Dave finds a place to park. Once he does he puts his roof back up we step out of the car and walk to the curb where our friends are now hollering us over.

“Hey, Hey, HEY!” Kanaya cheers holding onto Rose’s hand. I nod spacing out a bit as everyone talked. I look down on my phone to see messages from my dad.

   I smile a bit putting my phone into my pocket. Dave leans down to my ear. “Ready?” I nod as we hand Mr. Doc Scratch our tickets and enter the gym to see people dancing, music, and of course places to sit and food. Dave starts to back walk grabbing my hands in the process leading us to our friends who are dancing to each other. I put a smile on my face finally feeling welcomed. Even though Dave had joined this school not to long ago he had made his name known and was considered popular.

   He still hung around us which was really nice. A slow song became to roll in. There was one at the start then one at the end. Dave leads having both of my hands around his neck while his lay rested on my hips. I wore heels so I was a bit taller than normal. I can finally reach his shoulder! I put my head into his upper chest snuggling into it. I start to slightly purr as we slow dance a bit more. A few eyes were on us but I didn’t mind. The slow song came to an end as everyone clapped. “Wanna get something to eat?” He nodded as we walked over. I eye the food with worry.

“Are you okay Kark’s you seem nervous..”

“I don’t wanna over do it on food…”

“Hey, I get it. Here,” He stops and fills my plate with mostly healthy stuff. “Eat this or well most of it and see what happens from there.” I nod smiling a thank you at him getting a table for us to sit and eat. No later does it sit down with me giving me a soft smirk. I know he won’t smile in public but I know what he means. “I’m surprised that you don’t hate me.” I slowly swallow my food look at him strangely.

“Why would I?”

“Because, I push you around quite a bit. Like the first time I took you to my place I yanked you into the car and-- I’m surprised you don’t hate me.”

“I do hate a few things about you like the way you can turn anything sexual, how you don’t use correct grammar when typing, or how you’re scared to show emotion in public, and those shades…” He sighs chuckling

“You know about the last two Kit..” Kit, he only uses that when he’s annoyed with me… I put my head down looking out at the crowd. “Hey,” he starts up again. “I know when I use that nickname I’m annoyed with you but trust me, I’m not this time.” I nod leaning onto his arm. I notice something out of the corner of my eye a point at it.
