Meeting the house

Signless’s POV (Oh shit man)

   Karkat takes the back seat giving me full opportunity to talk to Dave. “Now, Dave, I’d like to ask you a few questions.”

“Okay, sure.”

“First off, are you and my son a thing? If so, when?”

“Yeah, we are. We have been for two hours or so. I asked him at prom.”

“That’s cute! Now, is there any problems you have with him?”

“Asides from his caps lock when we text, no.”

“We need to get that fixed, uhm, how many people are in this house?”

“Five so far. Maybe six or seven since Karkat and my sister’s other girlfriend might be moving in soon.”

“Geez, I bet this house is big…”

“Three stories and a mini elevator.”

“Oh wow!”

“Speaking of which, we’re here!” He pulls into the mansion looking like house.

“This seems expensive…” He nods knocking on the door to tell Karkat we’re here. We all wait for Dave to open the door. Once he opens it I can see some trash but it is overall clean. A guy with spiky hair and a girl with short black hair are playing the game portal, Meulin and Nepeta played it all the time. A girl with the blonde hair and pink tips are playing with cats while a guy with black swooshy (Ooof) hair is grabbing himself a snack.

“I’m home!” Dave yells, the people on the couch do a quick wave, the guy grabbing the snack says a muffled hi while the girl with that cats picks one up and walks over to us.

“Hi Davey--” She looks over and smiles. “Oh! Hello! You must be Karkat’s father! Dave told us you were coming over! I’m Roxy one of the people to takes care of this place.” she pauses and looks over at Dave once again. “Calli is going to be here soon so we will be up in my room. He nods as the fellow with the snack greets us next.

“Ello! My name is Jake, I don’t take care of this house but I do clean up after some people” He looks back at the spikey haired kid who just shrugs.

“Yo! Pause the game and greet your selves!” They sigh and pause it walking over to us. The black haired girl walks up to me first.

“Hello! My name is Jane and like Jake I do not really pay for this house… I mainly cook and just hang out with the others!” I nod giving a slight hello as the guy with the spikey hair walks over.

“Hello, my name is Dirk, I am one of the people who pay for this house. Rose, me, Dave, and Roxy’s sister Rose, who is up in her room with her girlfriend. You actually might know her, her name is Kanaya.” I smile and nod.

“Yeah! She’s Karkat’s, in human terms, cousin!”

“That’s nice, now, if you’d like I could  give you a small tour.” I nod again following Dirk around the rather fancy apartment. After awhile we reached one room that had a black door with a sign of a broken record on it. “Little man I’m coming in!”

“Fine by me!” He opens the room to see Dave and Karkat on the bed chatting away.

“You added the stuff me and Rox gave ya?” He nods looking around.

“It reminds me of my old room in Texas.” I examine the room a bit more. Desk and mattress held up by cylinder blocks, random posters and movie props, red walls, a computer and other nicknacks on the desk, tiled floor, a nice but messy DJ set, then fairy lights that were normal colored then rainbow ones crossing it. A nice succulent on the window seal.

“It was small but if it makes you comfortable then there you go.” He nods again as Dirk looks towards me. “There is one more room but it’s just plain. Could turn it into a gaming room or just a small bedroom.” I nod looking towards Karkat.

“Me and your mom would have to talk about this but I’m alright with it. Since it is a five minute walk it means you can visit anytime so I’m okay with that.” Karkat nods with excitement as me and Dirk leave the room to continue discussing this downstairs.
