Saving a fire

About two hours after the video call from Logan, Nya had managed to find the location from where the call was made.

Everyone had geared up and gotten ready to leave.

Kai hadn't talked to anyone since the call. He didn't change into his ninja gi, he only took off his jacket leaving him in just the tank top, and only brought one thing with him, Shadow's necklace. He didn't need anything else in his opinion.

The others had already figured that once they got to the location Kai would not stop at anything else than getting to Shadow and helping him, so they all knew his help was not something to count on in case they got into a fight with Logan's henchmen.

Most of the elemental masters had decided to stay out of this mission and instead focus on helping the citizens who at this time were without help from the ninjas.

Skylor and Shade were the only ones who went with the ninjas. Shade only did it because it would mean he got to fight some bad guys, while Skylor did it to actually help.

They all went to the location and found out that it was an abandoned school on the edge of the city. The school had been closed down due to the unsafe structure in the basement, so they all knew they had to be careful.

The ninjas and their two allies were lying on the ground on top of a hill not far from the school, they looked at the school through some binoculars, trying to come up with a plan on how to get inside.

"Zane, do you have a map of the school?" Lloyd asked the nindroid who nodded, "Yeah."

He took out a map of the school and laid it out on the ground.

"The ways in and out are there, there, there, and there." He pointed to some locations on the map.

"Well, they are all guarded, except for the back way into the gymnasium." The black ninja explained as he looked through the binoculars.

Lloyd nodded, "Then that's one way in. Cole, and Jay. You two go in through the roof. Everyone else come with me and enter through the gymnasium."

They were about to move when Kai cut in, "That's too obvious. He knows we're coming. He's too smart to leave one entrance unguarded. It's probably a trap."

Everyone stared at Kai who never took his eyes off the school. Scanning over the building for every possible way inside he sat up, "The best way in is through one entrance that's guarded. As long as we knock out the guards we should make it inside without any problems."

"Kai, I know you want to save Shadow, but I want to avoid a confrontation from Logan's henchmen. And the gymnasium looks like the best way to go."

Kai held back a growl, "Fine! Let's go through the gymnasium, but I'm not waiting around when we get into a fight." And just like that, he was off towards the school's gymnasium with everyone else, except for Jay and Cole, not far behind.

Kai came to the door and hesitated with opening it.

Shad was the first one to catch up to the red ninja, he walked up to the door and grabbed the handle, "Too scared to open a door. Well, I guess someone has to help the coward." He opened the door and there was a click from inside.

Kai's eyes widened and he tackled Shad out of the way just in time to save him from some arrows that shot from inside, unfortunately, Kai wasn't just as lucky as he got hit with an arrow in his left shoulder.

"Argh!" he let out a groan of pain as he got off Shade and sat down onto his butt.

He looked at the arrow and didn't think twice before snatching it out from his shoulder.
