A fight between shadows

It was late afternoon when the ninjas decided to go to Skylor's noodle shop.

Neither Kai or Shadow had gone there for a long time.

Shadow had never been there. And Kai hadn't been there since he had that fight with Shade.

The ninjas went inside and sat down in a booth.

Shadow had been hiding his face under his hood while Kai hadn't even put it on.

Kai wasn't afraid of the elemental masters while Shadow would remain from talking to them if he could, but he knew he could easily beat them if they challenged him to a fight.

As the ninjas suspected, the elemental masters walked up to them.

Shade and Kai locked eyes and daggers flew between them.

"So, you finally show your face here again. How fun." Shadow held back a growl at the sarcasm in Shade's voice.

Kai, on the other hand, stood up and got up in Shade's face, "As a matter of fact I did. You got a problem with that?"

"No. I just felt like pointing it out seeing as it's been a while since you showed your face around here."

"Maybe I had a good reason to not come here, Shade."

"Well, did you? Because I think you were just scared of facing me again." That was the last straw for Shadow.

He stood up and faced Shade with blazing eyes, "That's enough out of you, Shade."

The elemental master of shadows turned to Shadow, "And you are?"

Kai stopped Shadow from answering, "Why do you care?"

"Because I want to know the name of the new person I don't like."

Shadow chuckled, "Really, well then I guess you should check your memory."

Kai turned to Shadow and whispered, "Don't start a fight. You wanted to get on their good side didn't you?"

"Yeah, I did. But that was before I heard the way Shade talked about you."

Kai sighed and Shadow gave him a look as in 'I'll just go home' and then left through the door.

Shade glared at Kai and then sprinted after Shadow, Kai was not far behind.

The other ninjas and elemental masters shared a look before running out as well.

Not far from the noodle shop was a park and that's where Shade caught up to Shadow.

"Hey, you! Are you a coward or what! Can't even stay to defend yourself!"

Shadow stopped dead in his tracks, clenching his fists until they started becoming white. He turned to Shade, "No. But I promised Kai I wouldn't start a fight."

"Do you listen to everything he says?" Shade crossed his arms.

Shadow chuckled, "No. But I don't want to start a fight either."

"You're a coward."

"No, I'm smart. Because starting a fight with you would surely not higher my reputation with the other elemental masters, the whole reason I even went with Kai and the others."

Kai now caught up to them, "Shade, leave him alone."

Shadow turned to Kai, "I can take care of myself, Kai."

Kai smirked, "Sure you can, but it's my job to keep you safe so I just have to help out."

Shadow rolled his eyes and then smiled at Kai, "Thanks, bro."
