Daisy Lynn POV
It took about 18 hours to get to the United States. The pilot, whose name ws Jia, decided to tag along with us. The flight attendant that I'd spoken to earlier was named Lei. She and the rest of the attendants stuck with Jia. None of them really had any combat abilities,
Sakima took the lead. He knew where Celeste was likely located. We didn't. I decided to stick with him for a bit. For some reason I felt like when we got there it would be my time to step up. I knew Sakima took it personally when Timothy was taken. Someone had to be by his side just in case.
We never actually went into the airport when we deboarded the plane. Instead, Jia had us get off as we pulled up to the runway. Then he and the rest of the flight crew bailed once the plane was parked. One of the flight attendant had the ability the ability to release pheromones that could either draw you in or make you want to stay miles away. She chose to do the latter so that the humans wouldn't follow us.
Sakima burned through a gate and made a hole big enough for us to walk through to the grassy area that surrounded the concrete runway. Then an alarm sounded off.
"Ah shit," he cursed.
I could see a group of people running toward us in the distance. I looked at Sakima.
"Do we fight or run?" I asked. Our mission was to find Celeste, not get into battle. Of course, Sakima said fight.
Out of nowhere one of the people charging shot liquid at us. I barely had enough time to dodge. It singed my shirt, but fortunately the clothing was meant to be power proof, so it didn't burn a hole. I took aim with my left hand and fired back at them.
Another one of them swung their arm at us and it expended like elastic to reach. Sakima caught their wrist and did what he does best: burned it to a crisp. He held their wrist with one hand and then brought his other hand up. I heard a loud, high pitched whistling sound and the a bright white flame erupted from his palm. I had to look away it was so bright. The heat was almost unbearable. When I was able to look back the person's hand was gone. Just a stump was left, and even that exposed the bones of their wrist.
I looked at Sakima in horror. It was absolutely ruthless. He had a satisfied expression on his face. Then he turned to face our attackers and threw two blue fireballs at them.
I watched as the grass began to grow and roots began to emerge from the ground. They wrapped around the two people who had attacked us and rammed them violently into the ground. Then, picked them back up and did it again, but this time the earth shook because the impact was so hard.
There were about two people left, who had been behind the first two attackers. I watched as the ground beneath their feet jutted upward, making them go flying into the air. Ken used his powers to 'catch' them and made them twirl around while airborne before letting them drop roughly. We'd made quick work of all of them.
"Unknowns attacking their own kind already," Sakima said as we approached.
When we got closer, I could see some sort of device on the back of their heads.
"Look at that," I said, pointed.
"Giovanna?" Ken asked.
"No, I think this might be the humans' doing. Giovanna doesn't need machinery. She said she would kill anyone who didn't join her willingly," I said.
Ken looked worried. Sakima crouched down to get a closer look.
"I know him. He used to be a Scout," he looked up at me.
I felt all of the blood drain from my face.
"Oh god what if they have others that we know too? What if...what if the humans did this to all of the Unknowns here?" I stammered.
