Just a little word from the author :D
This is the last chapter with Dziko and the entire thing is from her POV. I will say that things gets steamy, but not explicit...well, not what I view as explicit lol. I don't ever really intend for this particular series to get very vulgar in that particular way (unless if readers really asked for it. Then I'd probably just make a separate work for those types of scenes cause I assume there are some underaged readers and it's not marked as a Mature story). Most you'll ever see me vividly describe is heavy petting.
That's all I really wanna say. Song was inspiration. Lol. Hope u enjoy.
Dziko POV
It was later that evening, inching closer to nighttime. We had agreed to go on the mission tomorrow. Celeste and the others gathered up some tents for us to sleep in and gave us some rations of food. We sat on one of the deteriorating park benches. When I finished my meal, I got up and walked around to where Daisy Lynn sat. I stood behind her and put a firm hand on her shoulder before leaning down to whisper into her ear.
"If you ever pull a stunt like that again from earlier I will shove you so far into the ground you'll be tasting dirt for the next ten years," I said.
"I did what I had to do earlier. And I'd like to see you try," she said, looking at me carefully.
Out of all of us, she had the potential to be the most dangerous. We both knew that. Daisy Lynn could grip all of the blood in my body in an instant. She'd done it earlier and she had no right. I didn't care if she did it to everyone else. I didn't care if she was my friend. Do it to me and she'll have hell to pay. I made that be known. She looked away. She knew I was serious.
To be honest, I wasn't sure if I could really take her. In fact, I doubted it highly. But there was no way in hell I was going to let that slip.
I looked up and saw Sakima eyeing us. As I went back to my seat, I didn't break eye contact. He knew I had a bone to pick with him too. It grew darker and the others began to make their way to their tents. Everyone had gotten their own, but Ayana and I decided to share. She rose and eye brow but I shook my head slightly. That was all the communication we needed. She nodded and went on her own. Ayana knew exactly what I was about to do.
Sakima sighed and got up from his seat, making his way away from the camp. I waited a few moments so it wasn't obvious when I followed him. He stopped when we reached the small building where all the restrooms were. We went around to the back of the building so that we were facing away from the camp.
"Do you plan on chewing me out like how you tried to do with Daisy Lynn?" he asked.
"Absolutely. You see, I don't care if we argue or make jabs at each other but you talk to Ayana with respect. I don't care how annoyed or tired you are. Don't use that sarcastic tone with her," I said jabbing my finger into his chest. He wrapped his fingers around mine.
"Ayana wasn't even bothered so I don't get why you are so worked up over nothing," he pulled my hand away from his chest, but didn't let go.
"Because Ayana isn't the type of person to give you any push back even when you deserve it," I said. He rolled his eyes.
"So that's it?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Why are you still holding my hand?" I demanded.
"We both know you'd make me if you really wanted to me to let go," he said, then leaned closer: "I know why you're really here."
His brought our hands up, intertwining his fingers with mine. I felt the warmth from his hand spread into mine. In the dark, it looked like our hands were glowing. It wasn't a bright glow, but deep, dark embers like burning coal. It was mesmerizing. My eyes were drawn to it and I couldn't really explain why it was happening. Couldn't explain why I felt the overpowering urge to bring him closer. Why I let go of his hand, grabbed the collar of his shoulder and pulled him in. Why I couldn't stop myself from kissing him.
