day 6-continued
ryan and i arrived 20 minutes late to the meeting about jon's plan because we were...busy. by the time we walked into the girls cabin, meagan and sarah were already packing up their stuff.
"they're here!" dallon announced, everyone diverting their attention to the doorway where we stood.
"sorry we're late."
"don't worry about it, bren. we know what goes on in the bathroom when no one's around," lynn said, ryan shrugging his shoulder. neither of us disagreed because we knew what she was implying.
"what do you guys think about jon's plan?" ryan questioned.
"i think it's great and that it could work, as long as we have some of jack and alex's help," hayley answered.
"so, does that mean i can tell them my master plan now?"
"after the lesson, jon. you need to calm down," spencer said.
"but it's GENDER ROLES! it'll just make me angrier than i already am."
"just do it after."
"only if you promise to give me-"
"that was already planned for tonight, but just do it anyways."
"fair enough. onward to the main hell!"
"hell?" meagan asked, zipping up her suitcase.
"you heard me, camper. let's go!"
we all exited the cabin altogether and entered the main hall the same way.
"oh goody, you guys are early to our lesson! i thought i'd have to send jack and alex to wake you up. planning on eating breakfast after, hm?" marilee asked in a slightly unnerving and creepily jolly way. i don't know what it is about her, but she seems too giddy for my liking and, in reality, probably her own liking, also.
"yes. when is the lesson?" dallon interrogated in a bit of a curt manner.
"whenever jack and alex arrive here! which, in fact, shouldn't be too long, anyways."
just in the nick of time, jack and alex entered the main hall looking a bit rough and disorganized. almost like they'd been doing the dirty or something, but they're heteros, so that's very unlikely. in fact, marilee had that exact mindset.
"hello, boys! sleep in a little too late?"
"definitely," alex answered quickly, leading marilee to stop asking any questions.
"would you like to start the lesson, jack? it's very important and i'd like to give you the honor of presenting today."
"are you sure you don't want to do it? i mean, this is your camp, after all. i'm just a willing and young employee who watches over these goddarn hooligans, haha."
"i insist! it's not like i'm missing out, i've went through this program too many times to count. you, of all people, should know! you are an employee who is educated on the history of the true direction."
"are you entirely sure?"
"oh, for our heavenly father's sake, just do it!"
"okay, okay, fine."
"mom, could you tone it down a bit?"
"yes, son, thank you. i don't want to get too out of hand. a kind leader is a respected leader, after all."
as jack set up the lesson from his computer, one particular moment in the near future was when we all lost our shit; and you'll have to wait to see what it is.
