Chapter 4

Author's POV

"I'm back! Missed me?" Jungkook asked in his regular cheeky and cheerful voice as he entered the precinct with his natural swag. "Yep very much Jungkook. " his face scrunched up immediately when he heard an annoying, shrill female voice that happens to belong to Kim Seohyun, one of the pretty fellow detectives. The way she said those words clearly indicated that she was mocking him but in reality she was secretly crushing on him.

"Haha very funny." Jungkook smiled with his lips pressed together tightly with his annoyance visible on his face. He walked up to his desk not wanting to elongate the conversation and settled on his chair with his eyes now looking at Jimin who was sitting right infront. "Hey Jimin." He said and Jimin smiled looking up, "Hey. You good?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm totally fine now." Jungkook sighed in relief and smiled back. "Everything's okay with your girlfriend?" Jimin asked. "Oh yeah... we are super okay, we are officially over and trust me, it gave me so much relief." Jungkook laughed as he remembered how well he dumped his now ex and her reaction to it was priceless and he felt so satisfied.

"I'm glad that you are okay." Jimin said. "Thanks and.... I definitely want to have more of your cooking, you are an amazing cook." Jimin chuckled, "it was just soup Jungkook." He said, "you need to know atleast some basic cooking skills to make soup and the one you made exceeds the taste of even the finest restraunt's." Jungkook complemented making the smaller a bit shy, "thanks." He replied.

"So... took my advice?" Taehyung asked when he came near his desk, he heard from Jimin what had happened earlier and seeing Jungkook all cheerful, he knew he broke up with her, "yep..." Jungkook sighed in guilt, "and?" Taehyung asked, "I'm sorry for hurting my bestfriend and I hope he forgives me." Jungkook said not looking at Taehyung, who smiled, "and I being the bestest friend you can ever have.. forgives you." Both Jimin and Jungkook laughed after they heard that, followed by Taehyung himself.

Two months later

Two months have past and the news of Jungkook's break up with his girlfriend spread like wildfire throughout the precinct. People were mostly happy thinking that they might have a chance, now that he is finally single.

But.. getting Jungkook's attention was still kind of tough for others as Jungkook gave most of his attention to Jimin nowadays. Since the day Jimin helped him, they became good friends and Jungkook was so determined to get more close to him that he literally stuck to him everywhere he went but Jimin never complained cause he really liked Jungkook being around him. He liked him, the way he talked, the way he took control over every situation and handled it so nicely. All of these thing made him to have different feelings towards Jungkook, feelings that were unexpainable.

And Jungkook too wouldn't lie about the fact that he got over his ex easily because he got Jimin's support, the smaller always made him feel good about himself.

One evening

The whole lot of detectives had a plan to go out for drinks and Jimin was the only one who was not willing to go with them , "Jimin.. please. You can't back out now." Jungkook said following behind him, "ah.. I don't wanna.." Jimin whined out and Jungkook had it, he was not leaving without Jimin so he simply utilised his strength and picked him up in his arms in front of everyone and made him sit on his bike, making the others whistle and clap at him, "you are so mean.." Jimin said with a cute pout on his plump lips making Jungkook chuckle, "and you are so stubborn."

At the bar

"Hey Jimin, can we talk?" Seohyun asked as she came and stood in front of him, really close. "ah.. yeah sure."

As soon as he said that, she pulled him out of the crowd and took him to one corner, "um... I don't know how to say this?... You.. you are Jungkook's good friend so I thought of telling you, uh I actually... kind of.... I like Jungkook." Jimin blinked at her not understanding what he'll have to do with that information, but he won't deny that those words brought him displeasure, "um.. I want to ask for your help... Just help me please!" Jimin stood silent for a few seaconds and slowly nodded not knowing what else to do, "o-okay." He said followed by a fake smile 'cause he had no mood for a real happy smile, he was having mixed feelings about it.

"Thank you so much Jimin...thank you so so much... I-Umm...wait, you both aren't in a relationship right?" She blurted out surprising him a bit, "what?" He questioned in a soft voice, "I mean, he is always around you and-well, then you wouldn't have said yes-" ----- "-no Seohyun, we are not." He said in an assuring voice, "I will help you don't worry." He didn't want to say those words but still said it not understanding why and he felt the instant regret in his heart.

He returned to the bar with a blank mood and Jungkook obviously noticed it, "hey, what happened?" He asked, Jimin looked up, his brows furrowed as he looked at him, "nothing..." He shook his head and then smiled, and seeing that smile, Jungkook felt it.

His heart skipping a beat.
