Chapter 8

Next day at the precinct

Author's POV

"Hey Chim!" Taehyung scooted closer with his chair towards Jimin as soon as he saw the latter come and settle down, "Hey Tae.." Jimin gave him a lovely smile with his face glowing more than any other day.

"Woah, you have a different glow on your face and you look more beautiful too, what's up? Did you hook up or something?" Taehyung came close to him and asked in a teasing tone.

"Stop it Tae.. What are you talking about? Why will I ever hook up with someone?" Jimin said with a chuckle, "if not that then tell me the exact reason of this extra cheerful state of yours. Tell me please!" Taehyung said moving more closer to him and Jimin shook his head. "Gosh! You are so annoying!"

"Hey, what are you both talking about?" There conversation got interrupted by Jungkook's voice.

"Hey Kook. Don't you think Jiminie is more cheerful today?" Jungkook looked at him and gave a small smirk, "yeah, what's up Jiminie? You look different today? Did someone asked you out on a date?" Jungkook said with a smirk and his tone was teasing and Jimin's face instantly got covered with a pink tint, he rolled his eyes and said, "there is nothing different in me today and nothing happened, happy?"

"Wait wait, are you guys flirting with each other now?" Taehyung laughed a bit but then a realization hit him, his eyebrows wiggled, "Don't tell me! did you guys hook up?" He asked with widened eyes.

"NO?!" Jimin and Jungkook said at the same time, "Jeez! Why is your imagination so wild, Tae?" Jungkook chuckled.

"If you both didn't hook up then what happened? Why are you looking more beautiful today? Why are guys flirting with each other? You never flirt. I want an answer! Come on Chim!"

"Nothing happened, now do your work." Jimin chuckled again as he said this.

"So any leads on the drugs case?" He asked to Taehyung, "nope. No new leads." He said as he rubbed his temple.

"Attention detectives, a murder has been reported at sector 5, a man has been shot dead." Namjoon informed. "Who is the person, Serge?" Jimin asked "Choi Youngjae." Namjoon said, "Choi Youngjae? Business man Choi Younjae?" Jungkook asked as his brows furrowed. Namjoon nodded.

At the crime scene

The body of the person was taken by the ambulance for an autopsy.

"Can't believe, this house is empty, absolutely no evidences." Jungkook muttered as he went around examining the things, "You're right Jungkook, there are no clues, not even a CCTV camera." Jimin added.

"Only the front door was open in this whole house, no signs of barging in, that means either the killer was invited in or he/she had a key to this place, Or! The door was not locked-" Jungkook said, his eyes fixed onto the shining silver door knob.

"-or the killer was in this house from the beginning." Jimin finished Jungkook's statement.

"Yes, exactly! But who can do this, he didn't had any rivals, atleast that's what I know...." Jungkook said his eyes not leaving the dmfront door of the house.

"And how do you know that?" Jimin asked.

"He was a close friend of my father's, I knew him since my childhood-wait." He stopped, "what?" Jimin asked again.

Jungkook moved out of the house and Jimin followed him, "Jungkook? What?"

"We have a suspect."

"Who?"

"Choi Youngjae's son. Choi Yejun."

"His son? But why will his own son kill him?" Jimin was confused.

"There are many reasons for which he could be the murderer, but the thing is I don't have a proof now and my words are not enough-"

"Jungkook?!" His sentence was cut off by a thin and sharp female voice. Both of them looked around and found a beautiful young lady dressed in elegant taste standing there a few inches away.

"W-what happened here?" She stuttered, her eyes were widened, she was shocked to see so many people in her house.

"Ah, Jia, umm, sit down first please." Jungkook said to her. "No, tell me what happened here and where's Appa? Jungkook?!"

"Jia, calm down okay?" ---- "Please tell me what happened? please!" She tried to go inside but Jungkook stopped her, "you can't go inside, it's a crime scene, your father... has been murdered."

"What?! No no no, this can't happen! We talked to each other the other night, how?!" She couldn't control her tears anymore.

Though Jungkook didn't like the girl but he still tried to console her out of humanity.

"It's okay Jia-" he didn't even complete the sentence when Jia hugged him suddenly, she put in head on the crook of his neck and cried out loud while Jungkook's hands were slightly up in the air, he was avoiding touching her.

On the other hand Jimin was in a deep thought, he was thinking about lots of things, where was she last night? Where is Younjae's son?

"Jungkook." He said in between his thought, Jungkook released himself from Jia and went to him, "yeah?"

"We need to interrogate her. We don't know were she was last night and she'll know about her brother right?" He said in a low tone. "Yeah okay."

They both went towards her, "you need to come with us Miss. We have to interrogate you about certain things."

"What?! My dad is dead and the only thing you care about is my interrogation?!" Jia was annoyed.

"We know Ms. Choi and we are sorry for your loss but this is our work, you have to come with us." Jimin said in a strict tone.

"And what if I dont?" She said.

"Oh gosh, Jungkook handle her please." Jimin didn't wanted to lose his patience cause if he did, he would've forced her to come with them and he didn't wanted to do that, he wanted to keep himself calm for the time being, "Ah, Jimin- Jiminie." Jungkook called but Jimin had already left to check the other sode of the house by then. He sighed and turned towards Jia.

"Look Jia, there is no, "what if I dont?" here, you have to come, or we'll have to force you, if you dont want that do as we say, okay?" Jungkook said in a very strict voice and it made her feel intimidated, she hesitated a bit at first but then slowly shook his head.
