Chapter 16

Author's POV

"You are going way too far Jeon Jungkook." Mr. Jeon said as he glared at his son who arrested him for no reason, he very well knew that Jungkook knows he is innocent.

"But you have already gone too far, Dad." Jungkook said as he sat down in front of him, they were inside the interrogation room sitting face to face with Doyun's hands cuffed to the table, "what do you mean?" Mr. Jeon asked, "oh, I think, you very well know, what I mean. What conversations did you have with Choi Youngjae before he died?"

"I have already said that I don't know anything." Mr. Jeon yelled out. "STOP IT! You know what? You are no longer a suspect, according to the proofs we collected and the statement which Jia gave before she died, you are the murderer." Jungkook's voice was laced with anger.

"No! This is not true! I didn't kill Youngjae! I can never kill him! Why will I ever kill him?!" A tear drop suddenly fell from his eyes, Jungkook was seeing his father cry for the first time.

"Dad... I know you didn't kill him, infact we all know, but we have nothing against the real murderer we don't even know His name and I think, the things you don't wanna tell us can lead us to Him. All the proofs which we have, indicates to you, and law will not listen to us it will go with those proofs and you'll get a death sentence even after being innocent. Please, dad, please, tell me whatever you know, please, do you think it's easy for me to see my father like this? I want to prove your innocence but I need your cooperation."

Jungkook's voice softened as he spoke, "o-okay." Mr. Jeon said, his head hanging low. Jungkook sighed, "Thanks Dad."

"So... tell us from the start, when did Choi Youngjae first spoke to you about the dispute between him and his son?" Jimin asked while sitting beside Jungkook facing Doyun, "He and his son... never had a good relationship, Yejun always blamed him for every single thing, because Younjae had always kept the truth from him."

"Do you know about this truth?" Jungkook asked, this question left Doyun silent, if he answered this the truth which he himself had been hiding for so long will come out and he knows Jungkook will not take it in a good way, "A b o u t?" Jungkook asked again, "about his birth father."

"Birth father? So Choi Yejun was not Choi Youngjae's own son?" Jimin asked, "no he was, h-he kind of gave birth to the kid (go with the flow). I mean Yejun's other father."

"Other father?.......You know, who the other father was?" Jungkook asked, his tone was a bit too serious, it was like he already has an idea from his father's sweaty face, but he didn't wanna hear it. "Do you know the other father?"

The way Jungkook asked the question it made Jimin look at him, he too knew what the older was thinking.

When they got no answer from Mr. Jeon but only a hung low head, it made all the confusions clear, "where you.... the other father?" Jungkook's voice came out a bit emotionless.

"I'm sorry." Was all Doyun could say, Jungkook was having a really hard time to process everything, he didn't even knew all these years that Yejun was his half brother and Choi Youngjae was his father's lover. He couldn't take the harshness of the truth anymore, he stood up to leave, "Jungkookie." Jimin called him but he was outside the door by then, so the latter went to him and stopped him.

"I-I can't even believe, all these years, all, these, freaking years, he lied to me, lied to my mother."       "Calm down Jungkook, hear him out, he must have had a reason right? Don't be mad at him maybe he didn't wanted to hide it, but he had to."

Jungkook was hurt, he loved his father very much, but he never had the slightest idea that his Dad can hide such a thing.

He unconsciously pulled Jimin close by his waist hugging him tight and burying his head on the crook of the latter's neck, he really needed this. Jimin slowly ran circles around his back and caressed his head. "It will be okay Kookie." Jimin assured as he pulled his head and placed a sweet peck on his lips.

Even if for a minute, but they did forget that they were in the precint, outside the interrogation room where Jungkook's father was, and he noticed everything from the see through door of the room.
