Chapter 29

Author's POV

The drive was silent. When they reached the apartment, it was all the same just like they left it but it was so lonely, it was all memories that were left now. Jungkook was gone and Jimin wasn't ready to believe that, he was hoping that this wasn't the truth and Jungkook would jump out of nowhere and tell him that it was all fake and then they'll live happily together with their child.

But that's not going to happen. Jimin's heart clenched when he felt the harhness of the truth over and over again. A tear drop fell from his eyes, what about his baby? He thought, their child won't even get to know it's father and it pained his heart so much, he very well knew how it feels to not have a father and his child experiencing the same thing is the last he wanted.

"Chim.... don't cry.... please." Taehyung tried to console him but saw more tear drops falling down from his friend's eyes.

"I'm not Tae, I don't know why but these stupid tears just aren't stopping." Jimin said with more tears running down his eyes and he rubbed them off. "He left me, he left me all alone, he broke his promise." he complained like as if he was angry, "He didn't leave you Chim, he is still with you, with us, he'll always be and how can you say he broke his promise? He left a part of him within you and you have to protect it right? You can't be weak like this Chim, you are not weak, you never were, I know, Jungkook knew. He trusted you, will you break his trust?"

Jimin rubbed off his tears and shook his head, "you are right, I can't be weak. I promised him too. I won't be weak no matter what happens. But will that bring him back to me or to our child?" Jimin asked with the most expressionless face anyone can ever have, "he always said to me 'you can't be weak, you are not weak' so that I get prepared for this day...? Why? Why did he do this? Left me for nothing but to grieve and feel guilty about how I was so close to him but couldn't save him."

Taehyung pulled him in his embrace, a tear escaped his eyes as well, it wasn't easy for him to see his dearest friend lying lifeless in front of his eyes, Jungkook was not just a bestfriend but a brother to him and seeing another dear friend of his in a miserable state.. he couldn't control himself anymore. "Don't say that Chim. Why will you feel guilty? You did nothing wrong, saving Namjoon hyung was his choice and I bet, if you were in his place you would've done the same thing." He said but felt Jimin's heavy breathing on his chest, poor thing, he had fallen asleep. Taehyung felt a bit relieved seeing him sleep, he needed it after all... he had been through a lot.

Next morning

Taehyung reached his apartment around 7am, he felt like his bones were going to break anytime. He was so tired, he stayed with Jimin all night, he just couldn't leave him all alone and then finally came back home when his hyung and mother came. He tiredly opened the door to his apartment and started to open his jacket when he noticed something or rather someone.

Hoseok was sound asleep on the couch, there were tear strains that were visible on his cheeks. He had given the extra key to his apartment to the latter a long time ago, but he never used it. So Taehyung was a bit surprised to see him here but seeing his tear strained face made him frown a bit, "why was he crying?" He questioned himself and then he thought of putting him on the bed.

He was just about to pick him up when, "Tae...?" Hoseok said in a sleepy voice, "yes?" He quickly sat up straight when he heard his voice and cupped his face, "Taehyung! Oh my God! Are you okay?! Did you get hurt?" Tear drops rolled down Hoseok's cheek as he saw Taehyung right in front of his eyes, safe. "I was watching the news and... and they said a detective got shot and they showed the location where you went,
-they weren't saying the name of the person who got shot- I called you, but you wouldn't pick up, I tried calling other's but they weren't picking up as well, I was so scared... I-I thought it was you..." he hugged Taehyung and let his tears out.
