A FEW DAYS LATER

Mum had been found and was taken back to the station. I felt so much better and so much safer. By better, I mean mentally. Physically, not so much.

"Why me?" I asked Mike.

"I don't know, but you'll be fine." he replied. Basically, a bug was going around school, and the whole area. I ended up catching it, and that's where we're up to. I have a massive phobia of sick and illness, so it was all a bit of a disaster.

"Just rest up, and if you need to be sick, don't panic. The bucket is right there, and you're not going to die. You'll survive." Mike said, before leaving the room. I hated it. Mike and Gina were taking everyone else to the amusement park, but because I was ill, I couldn't go, and Tracy had to stay with me. I didn't want to give her the bug, but she had to be at risk, unfortunately. I fell asleep a little bit after Mike left, as I hadn't really slept much.

TRACY'S POV

I was just doing the laundry when Mike ran in looking worried.

"Wait, what's wrong?" I asked him.

"Gina and I are taking the kids to the amusements, but you have to stay here. Gracie has come down with a bug, and you need to stay with her. Let's just say she's not pleased she's got it." Mike said.

I sighed.

"Oh no, I know how much she hates being ill, especially if she has the bug!" I replied. Next thing I knew, I could hear her being sick upstairs. I ran to go and find her to help her out, because I knew she wouldn't take it lightly.

I opened the door to find her crying on the bed.

"It's okay, don't worry." I said, taking her hands away from her face. "Do you feel any better now?"

Gracie nodded her head slightly.

"A bit." she replied.

"That's all the germs leaving your body every time you're sick or have diarrhoea. It can be good, you know, even if it is quite scary," I said, smiling at her. She gave me a weak smile before telling me to leave. I ran out and closed the door until she had been sick, before running back in and walking her to the bathroom. I got her cleaned up and took her back to her room. The poor girl was dying for some sleep. It just wasn't going to happen at this rate.

"Try and get some sleep, and if you need anything, either shout or text me. I know playing on your phone when you're sick can make you feel dizzy, so do what's best for you." I said. I ruffled her hair before leaving the room.

A FEW HOURS LATER
GRACIE'S POV

I hadn't been sick anymore since the last time I saw Tracy. I really hoped I was getting better. I went on my phone and typed in what was best to cope with a sickness phobia. I scrolled down to find an actual word that describes it. Emetophobia. A fear of vomiting or seeing others being sick. I couldn't believe it was an actual condition. I carried on reading the website, and it said that the condition is classed as an anxiety disorder. This basically fitted in perfectly with my anxiety. I shouted for Tracy so I could show her. She sprinted up the stairs and burst into the room to check I was okay.

"I found something." I said. "It's a condition. It makes sense if I have it."

Tracy took a look at my phone and nodded.

"Well there you go. You learn something new every day!" she said. "How are you feeling?"

"Much better to be honest. Once I'd began to relax, it helped. I haven't been sick since you were with me and once you told me to rest up, it's helped. Thank you so much," I said.

"I've got magical fairy powers, that's what's made you better!" Tracy giggled. "I'm so glad you're feeling better. Just then, Tracy's mobile rang. It was Mike, so she took the call.

Tracy: Hello?
Mike: Hi, Tracy! Just wanted to let you know that Toby's feeling sick. I think he's caught Gracie's bug from school as well. Everyone's a bit tired so I'm going to bring them all back. It's probably got to them all. How's Gracie?
Tracy: Oh no! It's going to be like a hospital in here soon! Gracie is feeling a lot better. I told her to get some rest after she was sick earlier, and now she's feeling better. Not fully, obviously, but she's getting there. She's found a type of anxiety that is to do with the fear of sick, which we think she has as well as her other problems. It's self-diagnosis though.
Mike: Wow. Sounds like you two have had an exciting day! I'll talk to you soon.
Tracy: See you soon.

She hung up the phone and took my hands.

"Try and sit up for me, it'll stop you from being dizzy. " she said. I slowly pulled myself up and put my back against the wall.

"That's it! Well done!" Tracy smiled.

"What was Mike saying?" I asked.

"Just checking up on you. They're coming home now though, because everyone is tired and Toby isn't feeling very well. He'll be okay though." Tracy replied.

THE NEXT DAY

I had a pretty rough night with sickness, and it turned out, Toby, Johnny, Carmen and Sapphire had got it too. Mike had a doctor coming round to see us to see if he could give us any medication. I hate doctors. I really do.

"I'm feeling so much better now though!" I whined.

"Gracie babes, you were sick all night. You need to see the doctor. But don't worry, he won't hurt you," Gina said as the doctor knocked on the door. Tracy went to answer it then carried on with whatever she was doing. I was so surprised she wasn't feeling ill after spending so much time with me.

"Okay, let me take a look down your throats." the doctor said. One by one, he had a look, but he couldn't see anything. He checked our ears, but everything was fine.

"It looks like just a normal bug, but because there's a lot of you, it's spreading a lot faster. It should be gone within a few days." he said.

When he left I ran straight back upstairs so I could sleep it off. I just wanted to get better and go outside and have fun. I'd had a tough few days and all I wanted to do was be happy.

Tracy knocked at the door about ten minutes later.

"Well, what's going to happen?" she asked.

"It'll clear in a few days. I should be alright by tomorrow I think, seeing as I've had it two days." I said with a smile.

"You should be. If you are, fancy going out? Keeps you away from those who are still sick?" Tracy asked.

"Yes! I'm sick of being in the house." I said. Then I remembered mum. My smile faded and I sighed.

"What is it?" Tracy asked me.

"I just remembered what happened with mum, that's all." I replied.

"She's with the police. She won't be there and she won't hurt you. I promise." Tracy whispered. She gave me a gentle hug; the first I'd had since I got ill, and stroked my hair.

"How about you have a bath. It'll calm you down and make you feel cleaner after everything." Tracy said. I nodded my head but then realised that the dressing Mike put on my back was still there.

"Uh, Tracy? What do I do with this?" I asked, pointing at the dressing. She carefully took it off and had a look at the burns.

"They look as if they're scabbing over, but I'll get you a waterproof plaster to put on them just in case," Tracy replied. She gave me a smile before going to get the plaster. I had a look at the burns on my back and sighed. They looked horrible. Tiny little circles that were bright red like angry spots caught my eye as soon as I looked.

"Don't worry. They'll get better." Tracy said, coming back into the room. She gently put the plaster on and let me get ready for a bath.
