She began running, her feet moving one after another, her eyes focused on where she was going, her heart pounding in her chest, she continued to run forcing herself to pick up the pace, then she jumped. Her hands grabbed onto the tree branch she stayed like that for awhile just hanging. Finally she pulled herself up, now standing on the branch she began to jump from branch to branch, gripping on each one and forcing herself up; like a monkey. Her hands gripping onto each branch as she continued to climb higher and higher. She stopped at a certain point and sat on the branch, pulling her sleeves down she took in a deep breath and enjoy the peace and quiet, yet it didn't last long. Suddenly the speaker next to her buzzed to life.
Good morning Frieda, climbing trees again, I see?
Yes Frieda said, why is there something wrong with that?
Well my coworkers believe that if my buzzer is going off every morning at 5am that there is a problem, so what is your reason today?
Same reason it's been all summer; I just wanted to see the sunrise, and the best view is from the tallest tree. I just love to feel all the colors vibrant off the sun Frieda said, the same thing I've told you the whole Summer, can't you're coworkers understand that Gemma?
I wish Gemma said, yet not in the mood for a deep conversation about her work life she looked for a different topic. You know, you're looking at your right hand again, and I'm pretty sure you stopped to pull your sleeve down several times, and it's like ninety degrees outside how in the world are you wearing long sleeves?
I told you to please not invade my vision, or if you can at least ask before doing it Frieda said, as she pulled her sleeve down again, covering the scar only she could see.
So I guess I'm not hearing that story today, Gemma said, okay well, I guess then it's my turn.
Wow, this view Frieda said in a whispered as she got up from her spot and continued to climb the tree, she felt Gemma join back in her visual, so she could see what she was seeing. Yet Frieda didn't say anything she stayed quite and let Gemma watch the sunrise with her. So what about your life am I learning today Frieda asked. Lightrock became boring quickly, which is why she learned to make conversation with Gemma, she had a lot to say and no one to talk to, and apparently they never gave Gemma her file so she had no idea who she was, and Frieda still couldn't decided if that was a good thing.
Well, I'm an orphan, grew up in Rainbow Valley during Selina's reign, so we haven't had the best treatment; we never really were allowed to learn magic or even try and use it. We were horribly treated and still are, Gemma explained, I turned 16 in January and was going to live on my own and finally get away from the orphanage. But the day before my birthday I was forced here, and given a job, and my caretaker signed it that I would work as long as she wanted me to and if I ever tried to quit or purposely get fired she would make my life horrible.
Wait, but Selina's reign ended there years ago Frieda said, surely there should have been some changes since?
Selina was defeated Gemma said on the other side surprised, wow I never knew when did it happen and by who?
Frieda took a deep breath, three years ago by the rainbow princess; have you really never heard she asked for this mater concerned her, no one should be treated badly, she would have to make sure to check it out once she returned to Rainbow Valley, if she returned that was.
The one who is mentioned in the prophecy, Gemma asked, when one connects to another; that's all I really know.
I think so Frieda said, although she knew exactly what Gemma was talking about.
Oh, yeah I'm a teller, that's a type of person who can hear about the future from other people Gemma said. That prophecy was the first and last one I heard, my caretaker found out and well, I have scars forever reminding me of it. Your turn Gemma said begging for the change of topic.
