"You ready, toots?" The fat perp asked Linda.
Linda shook her head and started screaming through her gag.
The perp hit her face with his gun. "I will use this!"
Tears stung Linda's eyes as the perps took turns to torture her. How she longed for her husband, bursting through the door with a gun in his hand. He wouldn't wait for anything- he'd shoot all of them automatically. Her mind screamed her beloved husband's name as the awful perp pressed hard against her. If she cried during her torture, the perps would hit her and threaten to shoot her. Linda moved her legs, trying to throw off the perp. He hit her in the head with his gun. "Get in here, Bear!"
A big, hairy man came in with handcuffs. He cuffed her ankles together and to the pole that they had. They cuffed her hands to the pole above her head, and had a rope tied around her midsection. Now the handcuffs dug into her ankles.
"That'll teach you to behave..."

"Miss Baker?" Jack spoke up as Detective Baker drove them to 1PP.
"Yes?"
"Where's our Mom and Dad?"
"They're both very busy; your grandfather asked me to pick you two up, so you'll be spending the day with him."
"At 1PP?" Sean giggled a little. "Cool!"
"What are they busy doing?" Jack was curious.
"Your Dad has a tough case, and your Mom—." Baker's phone buzzed while they were at a stop light.
Frank: Tell the boys that Linda's visiting her sick sister.
"Mom's what?" Sean asked.
"Her sister's sick. She's going to be staying with her till she gets better," Baker hated to lie, but she knew that their family should be the ones to tell them the truth.
"Oh, okay. That makes sense."

Danny yawned and shook the sleep from his head. Linda had been captured twenty four hours ago, and Danny hadn't slept since he found out. He looked at the bright red numbers of the digital clock on the wall. 1:37. Baez had gone home, after a lot of insisting from her partner.
Danny scratched his head and took a long sip of his coffee.
"Reagan, why don't you go home?" His CO told him.
"I can't stop." Danny rubbed his eyes and gulped more coffee. This particular case was wearing him out more than the usual.
"Yes, you can. Now, go home."
"You don't understand— this is my wife we're talking about! I can't quit looking for her!"
"You've been up for thirteen hours."
"I've been up way longer than that. Please, let me do this," Danny was not one for begging, but his CO could see the fear and pain in his eyes. He also saw revenge, and the usual fire.
"Fine."
"Thank you." Danny went back to passionately working.
