"See you later," I say before closing his truck door. I walk toward the house and hear Nick drive off.  I open to the door and I'm met with silence. It doesn't last long though.

"YOU CAN"T MICROWAVE THAT!" Angel screams from the kitchen. My eyes widen and I run to the kitchen.

"Look, nothing's even happening!" Trey says.

"You say that now! Just wait 'til it explodes!" she yells as she retreats to the far corner of the kitchen, far away from the microwave.

"What did you put in there?" I ask. He turns, smiling when he sees me standing by the door.

"Eggs," he walks over, pulling me into a hug. I hold onto him tightly.

"How did things go?"

"I'll tell you later." I whisper back. Suddenly there's a loud pop and the microwave door is shot open and an egg flies out. We all stare with wide eyes at what just happened.

"I told you!" Angel hisses at Trey and she leaves the kitchen. I giggle.

"Let's get this cleaned up." I say. We quickly clean up the mess. Once we are done we retreat to my room. I lay on my bed and Trey joins me.

"So, what happened?" he asks, softly.

I roll over, so I'm next next to him and I rest my head on his chest. I tell him everything. I tell him about my half sister, Abby and my step brother, Nick, who we had all met before I knew he was my step brother. I tell him about my dad and his new wife, Jenna.

I even told him how I felt like I didn't fit in and couldn't see myself as part of the family in the future but I was sure going to try.

I told him everything.

And it feels good to get it off my chest.

"Everything will be fine, trust me." he whispers. I nod against his chest. I will always trust him.

"I trust you," I whisper back.

"Hey, you want to go visit with Cody?" he asks.

"Is that your way of saying you feel like going home?"

"No, it's my way of saying I have football practice in fifteen minutes." he laughs. I giggle.

"Go," I push him out of my bed. "I'll be fine."

"You sure?" I nod and he takes off out the door. I slide off my bed and go to the kitchen. I make myself a bowl of Froot Loops. I eat them as I try to think of something to do. I wish I had someone to keep me company all the time... Oh I know!

I place my dish in the sink and grab my purse. I slip on some shoes and leave the house. I walk to the nearest bus station. The bus ride is only about five minutes long so I get to the place I'm going to in no time. I climb off the bus when it reaches the street.

I walk down the busy street, looking at the different store's as I pass them. I stop in front of the one I had in mind.

The pet store.

I push the door open and walk in slowly. I scan the store until I find what I'm looking for. The cats. I bite my lip, should I get one?

One catches my eye. It's pure brown kitten all alone in a cage. I stick my finger through the cage, scratching its head. It starts to purr and I can't help but smile.

"She's the last one of her litter, her sister went to a home yesterday," a sales lady tells me.

"How much does she cost?" I ask.

"She costs $120.00 and you would need to purchase food and a few other small things, such as treats, toys and a litter box."

I look down as the kitten nibbles on my finger. She must be so lonely in that cage. But that's a lot of money to spend on a cat.

"I'll take her," I smile.

"Great! Come on up to the front and we'll fill out the papers!" she says and I nod. I quickly bend down so I'm close to the cat.

"You better be worth it," I whisper to her, she just stare's at me with those innocent eyes. I sigh and follow the lady to the counter. I fill out some forms and pick out some stuff the car will need.

"Okay, everything's ready to go, ready to pay?" I nod. I open my wallet and pull out my mom's credit card. She gave it to me a long time ago and told me to use it for emergencies only. I guess this could count has one. I swipe the card and punch the code in.

"I'll go get the cat for you," she smiles. A few minutes later she returns with the cat in a small carrier. I grab the two bags of cat stuff I bought in one hand and the carrier in the other.

"Thank you," I tell her and leave the store.

I walk over to a bench, setting my stuff down. I pull out my phone and call Cody. He answers on the second ring.

"Hey, Katie, what's up?"

"Could you give me a ride home?" I ask.

"Sure, where are you?"

"On the bench outside of the pet store on main street."

"I'll be there soon," and with that we hang up. I look into the carrier to see my new (and first) pet.

"You need a name," I say softly to the kitten. And not something stupid.

"I know, I'll call you Kit Kat," I smile at the small kitten. I think the name suits her. Kit Kat and I sit in silence as we wait for Cody to come pick us up. A few minutes later he show's up. I grab my stuff and walk toward him.

I set the begs and the carrier in the backseat. I slide into the shotgun but before I buckle up, I reach into the back and grab Kit Kat from her carrier.

"Cody, meet Kit Kat," I hold her up for him to see.

"A cat. You got a cat," it's not a question.

"Yup, isn't she cute?"  I plant a kiss on her small head.

"She is but why did you get her?" he asks. I shrug, setting her down on my lap.

"I just want to have some one at home with me all the time, I guess."

We drive back to my house in silence. Once we get there, Cody helps me carry my stuff inside. I push open the door, Cody following behind me.

"Welcome to your new home, Kit Kat," I say and I hear Cody chuckle behind me.

"I can see you being a crazy cat lady."

I turn around and hit Cody on the chest with my free arm. Stupid boy.

I don't have much to say. School has been keeping me pretty busy but I write as much as I can :) Hope you guess liked the chapter.
