V and Lindsay

Lindsay Hurley had a rough life. Sure, being daddy's spoilt princess was easy. But things like friendship or love didnt come easily to her.

It was part of the reason she was the way she was.

When she and Lylah became friends, she almost couldn't believe it. She never knew anyone could influence her like that. But she was glad she met Lylah. No matter how rocky their start was.

Lindsay was a lot different than she portrayed herself to be. The cold bitch exterior hid the girl whod been hurt too much.

But soon that exterior started chipping away, the more time she spent with that whacko group of friends. She didnt know how all of them could be such crackheads but she was glad to know them.

After school, college came. And for once in her life, she got into something without daddy's influence.

She was rather proud of the scholarship she scored. She majored in cosmetology and pursued a career as a professional make up artist. After all, she had plenty of years of practice.

She had grown a lot since high school. All her heartbreaks caused her to build walls arou d her heart. No longer was she the the girl who wore her heart on her sleeve.

But no matter how many walls she built, there was one certain boy that kept breaking them down.

Taehyung had been a constant in her life since high school. Even in college, hed drive for hours to meet her. Even when she'd brush him off or act as cold as Elsa, he wouldn't give up. She didn't know how to deal with him quiet honestly. What started out as playful teasing from his part had evolved into something bigger between the two. No matter how much she denied it.

Truth is, she was scared. Utterly terrified was more like it. She'd given her heart so many times and it was given back to her, battered and bruised just as many times.

But this particular boy seemed different. She tried so hard to resist him but Kim Taehyung was a man on a mission. He wouldn't stop until he got the girl who hid her scars behind a facade. He'd seen her for who she was and he only wanted to know more. He wanted to be the one she was vulnerable with. To be the one she could be herself with.

He didn't know when or how he started feeling this way. It came as quiet a shock to him since he once loathed her for what she did to his best friends. But he'd seen her in a light no one else had.

Soon, Lindsay gave in. She agreed to a strictly friends with benefits relationship. It wasn't what V wanted, but he'd take what he got. He made it clear to her that he was willing to wait until she was ready to open up her heart to him, despite her adamantly saying she wouldnt.

Through their time together, he showed her that he wasn't here for just a tumble in the sheets. He showed her he was here to stay. He didn't just want bits and pieces of her. He wanted all of her. The good and the ugly. Even the broken pieces of her shattered heart.

He didn't know it but slowly, he was helping her heal. He showed her what truly loving some one was like. He didn't hold back because with her, he never could. This was the girl who stole his heart. And he was determined to steal hers as well.

Though, she was insistent that she was done with love or relationships, she couldn't help her thoughts from wondering from time to time. Some days she'd wake up before he did and she'd look at him, with his arm on her body and his hair disheveled from the night before. And sometimes, she'd wonder if their kids would have his eyes or hers. And in those moments, she knew he was the one for her. But hell would freeze over before she admitted it.

It didn't take long for V to break the walls Lindsay built around herself. It was after college, a night when they'd both gone out to eat, after work (Lindsay still claims it wasn't a date) that he finally worked up the courage to ask it. He knew she had long since come out of her shell and opened upto him but his hands still shook when he took the velvet box out of his coat pocket.

It was a beautiful night. They were under a big cherry blossom tree in a park and she was chattering on about Karen at work who wouldn't stop flirting with her. She had her back to him and turned around to ask him what he thought when she saw him on his knees.

The oval diamond ring was a perfect fit.

Later that night, after thoroughly celebrating their engagement, they lay in each other's embrace. Lindsay pulled up the sheets to cover her naked torso before she lay down on V's bare chest. She admired the ring on her finger before she whispered in the quiet of the night.

"Thank you. For loving me when I couldn't live myself."

It was a single sentence but it held the weight of a thousand worlds. Her gratitude and love reflected in those words.

Kim Taehyung looked at his fiancé with such adoration shining in his eyes, he wondered if he could ever love someone as much as he loved the woman in his arms.

Laying a kiss on her forehead, he closed his eyes.

"Easiest thing I've done." It didn't seem too significant but that sentence meant the world to Lindsay. She didn't think she'd ever meet someone who loved her as unconditionally as Tae did. Someone who'd love every part of her. Accepted and loved every flaw, every scar. She was so glad she accepted that friends with benefit proposal.
