Better Days

*Octavia's POV*

Wednesday was so much better. No one was saying anything about what happened. They all kind of just brushed it off. And a lot of Melo's friends said hi to me while I went to my locker. It felt kind of good to not be the one everyone hates. Melo came up behind me and hugged me from behind. "I got news," he told me. I turned around and smiled at him. "Give it to me," I told him.
"Well my dad and mom want you to come for dinner soon," he nodded, "They want to apologize. The video of my three point is going viral and they realized that you aren't bad for me."
"Really?" I smiled at him.
"Yea," he nodded.
"I'll be there. I'll ask Jonah when I can go and let you know," I nodded.
"Good," he kissed my forehead and pulled away from our hug.
"Now be good, I'll see you at lunch," he winked at me and then walked away to his locker. I turned around and shut my locker and went to start walking to class. I was stopped though. By someone who I didn't really know but I knew she was a cheerleader I saw her last night. "Can I ask you something?" she whispered to me.
"Yeah?" I nodded, a little confused. She took my hand and walked me to the girls bathroom, where no one was at. "What's going on?" I laughed a little.
"My dad," she sighed, "Does what your step dad did."
"Which part?" I sighed.
"T-the sexual stuff," her voice cracked, "How did you tell?"
"I just knew it would be the only way that I could get away from it... I didn't want my little sister to go through it either so I knew I had to," I put my hand on her shoulder, "I'll help you."
"You will??" she looked up at me, tears in her eyes, "I've been so scared. Then I saw it on the news and I figured I could come to you to help.. Now I'm just rambling but thank you." She wiped a tear that fell from her glossy green eyes.
"You're welcome," I nodded. She gave me her number and locked arms with me. "Come on. I know we have first period together," she smiled. I think I just made a new friend. "I never got your name," I walked with her.
"Amelia," she nodded.

At lunch I met with Melo and Amelia came up with two other girls. "Can we sit with you guys?" Amelia smiled at me. I looked at Melo and he nodded. We made room for them and they sat down. "This is Bea and Rylee," Amelia told me.
"Oh y'all are the cheerleaders," Will nodded, "The ones that do the stunts huh?"
"Yeah," Amelia nodded, "We are bases cause we don't have money and popularity like brook and them." They all kind of rolled their eyes at the name. Everyone kind of did. We ate our food and talked amongst ourselves. I got to know those three a little more and they got to know me. I think I just made a group of friends...
