*Octavia's POV*

Friday came along and that night I was going to spend the night at Melo's and go to dinner with his parents. Jonah dropped me off about 6 and I went up to the door and knocked. Melo let me in and held my hand as we walked into the living room where his mother, two brothers, his brothers girlfriend, and his niece were. "Hey," his mom smiled at me.
"Hi," I smiled back, waving a little bit at her.
"I'm going to go in by dad," Melo said. Tina nodded and then we walked into the kitchen.
"Aye!" his dad smiled at us. I smiled back and LaVar called Tina in. "Before dinner I want to talk to you two, alone with Tina," he explained.
"Okay," I agreed. Tina came in and stood next to LaVar and then he started talking. "I am truly sorry for what I had said. I didn't know and I judged too quick. You do seem very good for my son and even Gelo has told me what a difference you have made on him," he told me, "You are welcome in our house, to stay, whatever. You are part of this family."
"Thank you," I smiled at him, "You are forgiven. I am also sorry I kind of got a little defensive with you. I had no right to do that either."
"Totally okay," he nodded, "Fresh start."
"Fresh start," Tina repeated. I nodded in agreement and smiled up at Melo, then looked back at them. "Fresh start," I agreed.

Dinner went on and we all talked, ate, laughed. It was really good. They treated me like they have known me their whole life. It was really like I was part of their family. After dinner I helped clean up the table with Melo and then Melo took me to the living room and smiled at me. "What?" I laughed.
"This is Zoey," he took the baby from Lonzo who came in holding the baby.
"Can I hold her?" I laughed a bit.
"Yes," he chuckled, "I knew you wanted to the second you saw her." I laughed, taking Zoey from him and holding her in front of me. "I like babies I cant help it," I smiled. Melo and I sat on the floor and played with Zoey for a little bit. "Kid likes you," Lonzo laughed a bit, watching us.
"You're good with kids," Melo nodded.
"Had practice with Poppy," I laughed, shrugging a little.
"True," Melo chuckled. We continued to play for a little and then there was a tap on my shoulder. I turned to look and it was Tina. "I liked you from the beginning," she told me with a wide smile. I smiled back at her and nodded. "Thank you," I told her back.
