*Octavia's POV*

Poppy and I ended up having to go back and stay with my mom. She was worse now that Steve was in jail. Their not scheduled to have a hearing till next Thursday. I couldn't wait to get out of here. I hated being at my moms house and I've been missing school cause there's no one to watch Poppy. Melo has been helping me stay caught up though.

"When are you coming back to school?" Melo asked as we were both working on our homework while Poppy was watching cartoons.
"I'm not sure," I shrugged a little, "No one to watch Poppy, my moms not sober enough and Thursday is their hearing so."
"I'm sure my dad and mom would watch her. I kind of told them the situation already, my mom's been askin about you," he told me, "She likes you."
"She does?"  I giggled a little.
"Yeah she thinks that you and I are going to be together," Melo chuckled.
"Do you think so?" I asked.
"I think so," he smiled, nodding.
"Really? You'd date me?" I started to smile kind of big.
"Yeah of course, look at you girl. You're fucking beautiful," he nodded, smiling, "I swear."
"No I'm not," I shook my head looking away from him as my cheeks started to turn pink.
"You are, trust me," he smiled, turning my head back to him. I smiled at him and he kept his hand on my cheek and started to rub his thumb on my cheek. "Trust me, one day you're going to be mine," he nodded at me. I nodded in response and he leaned in and kissed my forehead. "Back to trigonometry," he chuckled a little bit.

We finished our stuff and I left my stuff at Melo's for him to bring to school tomorrow for me. I stood up and picked Poppy up on my hip. "Hey wait let's talk to my dad about watching her Monday so you can come back to school," Melo told me. I nodded and we all three went downstairs. He talked to his dad about watching her and to my surprise he said he would. "Thank you so much! When I get some money I will pay you I promise!" I told him.
"Don't worry about it," LaVar told me.
"You sure? I can get you some money," I nodded.
"It's okay," he smiled at me, "I promise."
"Okay thank you," I smiled. Melo walked us to the door and stopped me before I walked out. He kissed my forehead and smiled. "Tomorrow, 12 o'clock, taco bell, on me," he told me, "Bring Poppy."
"We will be there," I smiled at him. I leaned up, kissed his cheek and then walked out with a big smile on my face.
