*Octavia's POV*

~6 months later~

"You know what tomorrow is?" I smiled at Melo.
"Saturday?" he looked at me confused. I rolled my eyes a little at him. "I'm kidding!" he laughed, "Our what? 6? month?" he smiled.
"Yeah," I smiled, nodding, "What are we doing?"
"Chillin," he chuckled.
"Wow," I laughed, "Romantic."
"Nah," he shook his head, "We can go on a picnic or some baby how's that sound?"
"Good," I smiled.
"Good cause that's what we doing regardless," he laughed. I laughed a little too and pecked a few kisses against his cheek. The bell rang and I got up and threw my trash away. Amelia, Rylee, and Bea met up with me in the hall. "So what is he doing??" Rylee asked.
"He said we are going on a picnic," I giggled.
"Awe," Amelia smiled, "Those are so cute."
"They really are!" Bea nodded.
"I'm excited," I nodded, "I can tell he has more planned though. I know him too well."
"Damn," Bea laughed.
"Tell us everything!" Amelia giggled.
"Seriously! Everythinggg!" Rylee nodded. I laughed a bit and we all sat down in our seats. "Don't worry I will," I assured them.

Saturday. 6 months with him. I woke up to a paragraph from Melo about how lucky he was and how happy he is with me and how good we are for each other. I wrote one back and then got ready for our picnic date that started at 12, it was about 10:30 now. Once I was finished I ate a little snack to hold me over then waited. Melo picked me up at 12 on the dot and I got in his car. "Ready?" he smiled, taking my hand.
"Ready," I smiled at him. He started to drive and we drove a good 30 minutes or so before we pulled into a parking lot. In front of us was a beach with a big canopy tent in the middle of the sand. "Melo," I smiled at him.
"I rented the beach for us," he chuckled.
"Awe," I gave him a kiss on his lips and we both got out. We took our shoes off and walked in the sand to the canopy. In there was blankets and pillows and some twinkle lights around the top of the canopy. We crawled in and Melo got the food out for us. The only sound was the waves crashing, the wind, and a few birds chirping here and there. We ate, just taking in the beautiful view. "You know for how goofy and ridiculous you are sometimes, you can be really romantic," I laughed, smiling at him.
"I'll take that as a compliment," he chuckled.
"It was," I smiled at him. We finished our food and Melo pointed to something. "What's that?" he asked. I looked in the sand, towards the corner of the canopy and there was something in the sand. "Get it," Melo laughed.
"Why? You get it," I laughed.
"You're closer," he fought back. I groaned and got up and reached for the thing. I picked it up and dusted the sand off. It was a box wrapped with a bow. "Open in," Melo smiled. I sat down again and smiled at him. "Thought we agreed to no presents?" I looked at him.
"Trust me," he nodded. I opened the box and there was a ring box inside it. I opened it and there was nothing in it. I looked at Melo to ask but he was holding a ring between his thumb and pointer finger. He held it out to me. "You're the girl I want to be for a long time," he started, "This isn't an engagement but it's a promise to one day when we are older to make sure to put a ring on your left ring finger and make sure it stays there the rest of your life. Make sure that smile on your face right now never leaves. Promise to love you for a lifetime." He put the ring on my right ring finger and I hugged him tight. "I love you," I told him through sobs.
"I love you too," He whispered back, holding me close.
