Normal POV:

"Hello? Ryuugamine-Kun?"

Your breath hitched nervously as you clutched the corners of your phone tightly, anxiously awaiting a reply from the other side.

"(Y/n)-san?"

Hearing that same gentle and meek voice reassured you tense frame, your shoulders drooping down in relief as you smiled in ease, your grasp pushing the cold screen against your ear even further, almost as if in comfort.

"Yeah, it's me."

Your POV:

"Yeah, thanks again Ryuugamine-Kun. I'll talk to you next time then, bye-bye."

As the top of my finger tapped the crimson red button lightly, my call with Ryuugamine-kun had ended, and I breathed out heavily, collapsing into the back of the chair I had been sitting on all this time.

It was tiring, pretending like everything was fine.

Resting the mobile device to the table nearby I ran a free hand over my (h/c)-haired locks.

After all, I couldn't let Ryuugamine-Kun worry right? It didn't seem like Kida-kun had told him anything, and knowing how close they were it was highly likely he would be confronted.

*flashback*

"Recently, Masaomi's been pretty busy, though I'm not sure what it's about..."

"Ehh, so it's not about schoolwork or things like that?"

"Mmhmm. Plus, he doesn't have any outside activities or obligations that I know of..."

*flashback end*

As I thought, something's definitely going on with Kida-Kun, right now. And Izaya-Kun's probably involved in it, or at least aware of what it is.

I tapped my chin, focused in deep thought.

I have to try and find out what it is, without alerting Kida-Kun as much as possible, at least until I know what's going on. Izaya-Kun pretty much knows what I'm up to, but I can't rely on him for information.

My phone screen was still on, the lighted up object left on the contact list in my phone. Only two names were recorded: Ryuugamine-Kun and Sonohara-san. Not one more.

I refuse to believe I had no contacts prior to Ryuugamine-kun and Sonohara-san's, both of who I've just met. I didn't even have my mother's, and in that brief memory I got back, I definitely got a message from her.

In fact,

I closed the screen, a crisp click confirming my actions, and set it back down to the wooden surface.

I hadn't checked everything to confirm it, but I was already positive.

This phone is too clean, there's almost nothing. It wasn't like that when Namie-san first gave it to me.

"Izaya-kun...."
