Normal POV:

The man had known the infamous Heiwajima Shizuo for a very long time—it could even be said he carried an important role of a best friend to the individual in question. Although, who would dare question this unspoken bond; they had been childhood friends since a young tender age, and had somehow maintained such relations despite a clear difference in character.

So, the man knew just how significant a meaning the term 'friend' meant to the blonde.

"Heh~"

The man simply couldn't restrain the amused tone in his manner of speech that could be possibly interpreted as mocking; yet with his quick wit and signature laugh, the girl before him didn't seem to notice afterall.

"That's impressive, (y/n)-Chan! You're really taking quite the aggressive approach with Shizuo-Kun—to already be progressing the stage of friends!"

"Eh—you can even misunderstand that!? Shinra-san, I think there's somehow a mistranslation in our conversation."

The man let out another chuckle at the rightful comedic retorts of the girl towards his actions, managing to successfully maintain his conduct of feigned innocence as he allowed the conversation to further deviate from the original context; he was good at doing so.

Always pretending to not notice developments or changes in his surroundings, simply allowing the hands of fate to do as they pleased—of course, this was all under the condition none of it would affect his beloved lover in any way.

"How so? I'm pretty sure I'm just repeating what you're saying in different words...wait, or perhaps were you trying to subtly hint to me how Shizuo-kun friendzoned you instead!? Aaah, if so my bad-"

"You're going in the opposite direction instead!! Go back Shinra-san, go back!"

So, for this too: maybe it would be fine for him to play along for now.

"Hahaha, oh well."

The man known as Kishitani Shinra, wouldn't get involved in this odd love triangle for the time being.

The bobbed-haired youth only stared straight ahead, her chocolate brown orbs displaying an earnest effort of seeking out the face of her friend from the bustling activities within the train station. The little girl accompanying her stood beside obediently, the soft fingers of her small hands securely held in the female's grasp.

If she was honest, the female was beginning to worry. No, she had in fact been carrying these nervous feeling for awhile now—regarding the subject of her two friends.

Despite the big showdown between two gangs of the city that had torn the pair apart in the past, things had finally seemed to calm down and return to how it had been before.

Right, simple passing days of peaceful bliss.

Yet, these peaceful days seemed to become just as unsettling as time passed.

Was it peaceful ignorance instead, then?

In the first place, what was unsettling?

"Hey, Sonohara-san?"

A pleasant, familiar voice halted the youth's thoughts for a moment, calling for the girl to return her full concentration to her surroundings.

"Oh, Kamichika-san."

The source had sure enough been an acquainted classmate, with the company of her own friends.

Right, today was a holiday from school.

"Is this your little sister?"

"Uh, no, she's a girl I know..."

Although she had spoken with the twin-tailed female quite a few times in school, it still felt slightly awkward to do so in another setting.

But, compared to before, the youth was much better at conversing—after she had gotten to know Ryuugamine Mikado and Kida Masaomi.

"What brings you here, Kamichika-san?"

"Some friends from junior high are visiting, so I'm showing them around a little."

"Oh, I see."

Giving a quick nod to the group patiently waiting a small distance away, the female turned back, her smile changing into a curious expression.

"Were you a dollar, Sonohara-san?"

"What? No, I'm..."

The sudden question had naturally caught her off guard; it was unexpected. Though the female did not seem have noticed her tensed form.

"I see...today the Dollars' mailing list is close to blowing up. I hear their brawling with a biker gang."

"Eh?"

Ah, maybe this was the reason for that odd, unsettling feeling.

The youth known as Sonohara Anri was nervous and worried about her two friends, though she tried hard not to appear so. But, who could blame her?

Afterall, as the days passed, things only seemed to get more unsettling.
