Three crisp knocks sounded at the door, its volume amplifying in the almost silent and overly spacious apartment.

The raven-haired man glanced up from his computer screen, his fingers halting their typing actions. As if realising who it was, he turned back to his work, paying no further heed to the intruding sound he could clearly hear.

This time it was something pounding onto the surface of the door. Her fists probably, she must be getting irritated by the situation. He wondered how long it would take to piss her off; now he had his answer. Pushing his chair back from the table he sighed as he got back up, his slender fingers reaching for the white mug beside his computer, black coffee, he loved the bitter taste.

This time the pounding sounded louder and it seemed as if she had kicked it instead. She must really be mad now.

He took his time strolling to the doorway, humming merrily to himself with a sadistic smile in company.

Maybe she'd get more frustrated and explode? Or try to keep it in and act sweet but fail horribly? Either way he'd be entertained.

"Ah, (Y/n)-Chan, what's up with the loud banging? I can't have you ruining this wonderful quality of a door you know~~?"

He smiled sweetly, his features flawlessly oozing innocence. The door opened wider, revealing the girl that had just been abusing the faultless object keeping her from entering the apartment.

"Hehe sorry Izaya-Kun, it just wouldn't open, thanks for opening it, I'm home~~"

His eyes widened at her smile, and his smile faltered at her cheery voice, though he regained his composure in a heartbeat without delay. His gaze met hers, and a small laugh left his lips.

"Hahaha."
