Your POV:"Geez (y/n)-Chan, surely you expected someone to catch on, right?"
Shinra-san pouted his lips together, lighting up a playfully chiding finger directed at me as he slouched onto the structure of the table top, seemingly oblivious to my reaction.
"I mean, I'm sure anyone could tell. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if I was the first to outright ask you like this."
With a small laugh, he leaned his figure in to shorten the distance between us, still not commenting on the ridiculously unnatural redness coating my complexion.
"That's why, could you tell me? I'm interested in knowing."
I subconsciously blinked a few times, internally stupefied at being met with such a confrontation that was entirely different from the other expectations I had already given in to through overthought predictions. His watch felt more and more pressuring by the minute, worsening my dazed state of mind as my lips shakily parted.
Had it always been this hard to talk?
In the first place, I hadn't expected Shinra-san to be the one to ask such a question. From our previous interactions I had unconsciously began to form a definite impression of him as being someone who was eccentric and unreservedly friendly, yet strangely enough polite and respecting, preferring to stay out of business not concerning him. My gut feeling seemed to say the same thing too.
Maybe that was why I had felt so at ease conversing with him in the past.
"Shinra-san..."
Gratitude filled my being as the dead silence was broken by the refreshing sound of my voice. I hadn't even noticed the nervous shaking layered atop my tone, simply relieved that I hadn't replied any later.
"Why...are you interested? I-in this kind of thing..."
I knew that I probably should have just clarified his inquiry with a clear answer that wouldn't have caused any potential misunderstanding, even if I wasn't able to tell the effect it would have on the situation at that time. But, I strangely felt the need for my curiosity to be satisfied, to try to understand why he would wish to know such a thing.
If I had known just how much my answer to his question that day could change things, I wouldn't have asked.
"Hmm, responding with another question—that's not very fair is it, (y/n)-Chan."
I instinctively flinched at the mention of my name, my gaze slowly gaining the confidence to meet his broadening smile.
"But it's okay, I'll answer you question."

Norma POV:*Flashback*
"Hey Orihara-kun?"
The raven-haired male lifted his chin up loosely, his half-lidded eyes nonchalantly resting on the straightly-postured frame of his friend.
"What?"
"You said you love all humans equally no matter what, right?"
A slight pause ensued as the male raised a brow questioningly, significantly more involved in the conversation than before
"That's right. What about it?"
"Then, do you think you'd ever get a girlfriend?"
"Haah? Where did that come from?"
"Not really a particular reason."
Beaming to himself, Shinra folded his arms neatly atop his curled knees, disregarding the look of annoyance on the face of his companion beside himself.
"I just wonder if you'll be able to find love like I did, Orihara-kun."
*Flashback end*
"You see, I just want to know which one of my two dearest friends will be the first to find love—"
The man lightly cocked his head to the side cutely, his friendly smile gradually turning into more of an impish grin.
It was a look you had never seen on him before.
"A violent blockhead, or someone who's shady as hell."
