Your POV:

I scratched the back of my head uneasily, feeling the unbearable restless tension run through me as my figure just barely stayed in its fixed position on the couch beside Sonohara-san.

I could hear myself gulp nervously, my ears ringing loudly as I did so. By any chance, was I too loud, did she hear that?

Wait, does she actually know I'm having these thoughts right now?

I cautiously shifted my eyes to the side as discreetly as I could, watching as the bob-haired student smoothed out the wrinkles in her black dress, her unrealistically pretty long lashes fluttering along with the movements of the almond-shaped eyes they were attached to.

Whoa...I always knew Sonohara-san was pretty and cute...but now that I'm looking at her from such a close angle those two words don't really seem to properly express it...

Wait, what are you doing, (y/n)!! Now's not the time to be thinking about such things, focus!!

Right, let's think about this logically, she can't possibly read my mind and know what my thoughts are! That's just ridiculous, it's not like she's--

My mind instinctively halted before the sentence had finished.

Right, let's focus (y/n). Let's not go off topic again.

And let's also maybe try to stop thinking about him.

Normal POV:

The first time you had ever heard about Sonohara Anri, a thought you had no control over had formed in your mind, and had stayed until now, slowly growing more curiosity within you as more time went by.

Sonohara Anri has a big secret, like Celty.

Neither of you had yet really spoken anything to each other despite your forms being sat so close. The atmosphere was awkward, and yet at the same time, it was strangely not.

It felt weird being alone with the girl for the first time.

Then again, you had just barely known her for a laughably short period of time.

You pursed your lips, only now realizing you had been continuing to unintentionally observe her this whole time. Your eyes darted to the other end of the room, inwardly ashamed. Due to your now averted eyes you failed to notice her warm chocolate brown peeking up from her lap, over to your frame.

Was Sonohara Anri's secret the issue that was bothering her? You didn't know at all. Though, you were completely certain the issue was related to Masaomi, and the current suspicious circumstances he was going through. So...

For once, you closed your eyes calmly, allowing your gut feeling to take over. You could trust it, since it was her afterall.

The past self you had been unconsciously rejecting this whole time.

'Yes.'

"Hey, Sonohara-san."

The female almost jumped at the sudden expression of your voice, though her usually cool nature allowed her to retain her composure, turning her visage to face your soft smile.

It took a while, but you now understood: wanting to be able to help anyone in this city called 'Ikebukuro', you needed help from 'her'.

Your hands gently extended out, placing themselves over hers kindly. Within that particular moment your pair of (e/c)-colored orbs met her demure gaze, and a faint tint of red flashed across your vision.

Yeah, you really needed 'her' help if you wanted to be able to do anything.

"You know, about just now..."

Finally, the timing was right for once.
