In the morning I woke up and work up Victoria. She groaned and rolled over pulling the blanket over her head. I laughed and poked her.
"Wake up lazy ass." I said pulling the blanket off her head.
"I'm up," she said rolling over. "I don't wanna go home."
"Why not?" I asked confused.
"I like it here." She answered. "You're the greatest friend I've ever had."
"Awe," I said happily, "you are too. Aside from the kids in the home, I've never had a friend."
"Why not?" Victoria asked.
"No one wanted to be my friend." I answered. "Who wants a friend that was always covered in bruises? Who wants a friend that cried all the time?"
"Where were all the bruises?" Victoria asked with tears in her eyes.
"Everywhere," I answered, "from my face to my chest, my arms, and all down my stomach to my back and my legs."
Victoria looked like she wanted to cry. "How long did it go on? Like years?"
"Close to five, give or take."
"I'm so sorry, Bella." She said holding me tighter.
"It's okay," I said letting go. "If I had never been abused then I never would've met Gena and Zacky; which means I never would've met my best friend."
"Are you serious?" Victoria asked. "You're my best friend to."
I smiled, "Do you wanna go downstairs with me?"
Victoria nodded, "Let this day begin, my loves." We headed downstairs arm in arm.
"What's for breakfast?" I asked my dad when we made it to the kitchen.
He looked shocked to see us. "You girls are up early."
"What time is it?" I asked getting Victoria and I some orange juice and sitting at the bar with her.
"It's about nine-thirty." Dad answered smiling.
"We didn't stay up very late." Victoria chimed in.
"We went to sleep around midnight, I think, I don't know." I said laughing at myself.
"You're seriously messed up in the head, baby girl." Dad said laughing. "I can't even say u got it from me."
"I've been around you guys for too long." I said smiling.
"Yeah," dad said, "that, I can agree with, knucklehead."
I smiled, "You wanna go outside and smoke?" I asked Victoria.
She nodded "I'm down for that."
I sat in a chair and lit up, she sat in my lap. "Why are you sitting on me?" I asked laughing at her.
"I want to," Victoria said laughing to, "you have a comfy lap."
I sighed, letting it go. We put out our cigarettes and went inside. Dad made us both a ham and cheese omelet. He put them on a plates with hash browns and a biscuit.
I smiled, "Thank you, dad."
Victoria smiled, "Thanks, this looks amazing."
"You guys are both very welcome." Dad said sitting on the other side of me.
"Where's mom?" I asked looking at my dad.
"She went to the grocery store," he answered, "She should be home any minute."
