Kazuto's POV
16th of March 2025
After we finish eating lunch, we walk in a park across from the restaurant. "So, what is it? You've been quiet for some times now." Asuna says.
I stop and take a deep breath. "Before I tell you. Can I ask you a question?" She nods her head. "If you have a friend that is abused by their parents and there's nothing you can do to help, what are you going to do?"
Asuna thinks for some time, "I'd be there for them. Keep them company, my Grandma uses to say that sometimes a company can help you a lot when you have trouble." She says. She's right about that...
"Why are you asking that though?" She tilts her head in confusion.
I open my mouth to answer, "J-Just asking, that's all." I say with a nervous smile.
"Does that question has anything to do with the thing you want to tell me?"
"Uh, kinda." I rub the back of my neck.
"What is it that you want to tell me, Kirito-kun?"
"Uh... Remember that time when I told you that I don't have a happy childhood memory?" She nods her head. "Well, uh, there's more."
She blinks, "What is it?"
"Uh, you see, not only that my parent made me work in such a young age. They also-" Before I finish my sentence, I sense another presence near us. I close my mouth and search for the stalker.
Asuna doesn't seem to notice it. "Also what?" She asks.
"I'll tell you later." I say grabbing her hand and leave the park. "Come on, let's go."
"Kirito-kun, what's wrong?" She asks confused.
"Someone was watching us." I say.
"Eh?" We reach to my car and I open the door for Asuna.
She gets in as I look back at the park and spot a man standing there with a hoodie.
I get in the car, "Let's drop Asuna at her house." I say to the driver.
"Yes, Sir." He says before the car leaves the park.
"Kirito-kun, who was it?"
"No idea." I say as I look at her and hold her hand.
"What did he after?"
"Don't worry, Asuna. I'll get the source of this." I say with a smile.
"Just be careful, okay? Don't do anything reckless."
"Since when have I done something reckless?" She raises her eyebrows. "Okay, I get it, I get it. I'll try my best."
We arrive at her house. "Here we are." I say opening the car door.
"You didn't finish the sentence before. What was it?"
Oh damn... Play dumb.
"Uh, geez, I think I forgot what was it that. I'll tell you some other time when I remember." Too dumb...
"Okay then..." She bought it! "Well, you be careful going home okay?"
"I will, don't worry." She kisses my cheek before walking into her house.
