Not Everything Can be Bought by Money

Chapter 30

Kazuto's POV
28th of July 2025

"Kazu, wanna go out?" I put down my magazine and see Eugeo's standing by the sofa with his usual smile.

I raise one of my eyebrows while staring at him suspiciously. "What? Alice left you?" I ask.

"She actually did," Eugeo replies with a blank look. I put down my magazine. "So, is that a yes?" He wiggles his eyebrows in expectation.

Having no other things to do, I reluctantly agree. "Alright, what do you have in mind? If it's to a crowded place, count me out." I say as I throw the magazine I was reading.

"It's not. Do you remember that time when I told you I found a place that sells swords?"

"How could I forget?"

Eugeo takes a seat on the sofa next to me. "Well~, I went there yesterday. And you won't believe what I found." He takes out his phone from his pocket.

I take the phone from him and sees the photo. "That's a nice looking swords," I remark whole giving back his phone.

"It is, right?!" Eugeo exclaims with gleaming eyes. "So, do you want to go now?"

I think about it for a moment. "Sure, let's go." I throw the magazine before standing up.

Eugeo cheers excitedly. "I'll get the car ready." He runs off without even waiting for my reply.

I go to my room and pick out a casual white shirt with a black cardigan and black trousers. After I'm ready, I walk out of my room. "You ready? Let's go."

We walk out of the house and get into the car where Alex is already waiting. Along the way, Eugeo keeps on pestering me about my relationship which mostly I ignore. Sadly, he keeps on pushing.

"We're here," Alex informs.

"Finally!" I exclaim before opening the door and walk out, leaving the still talking Eugeo in the car.

I stare at the small shop where swords are hanged on the window. "Let's go in," Eugeo says while holding my shoulders from the back. He starts pushing me into the door.

We enter the shop to be greeted by the workers. Eugeo does all the talk while I just stay behind. The staffs take out the two swords and put them on the table for us to see. One is blue and the other is pure black.

"I want black." "I want blue."

We both say at the same time. The staffs let out a small chuckle hearing that. But, they nod their heads anyway. They then wrap the swords neatly.

After paying, we walk out of the shop. Just as I want to get into the car, I catch something from the corner of my eyes. Out of instinct, I immediately turn my head. There, in between people walking by, I can see the man I've been looking for. He smirks at me before turning away.

"Kazu? What's wrong?" Eugeo asks from inside.

I ignore his question as I'm thinking about what I should do. "Sorry, Eugeo," I say once I decide.

I close the door of the car and chase after Sugou. I can hear Alex and Eugeo call me, but I ignore them. All my focus is set on the man that is now running too. While running, I unwrap my sword and then strap it around my waist.

I see him running into an alley which makes me run faster. Sadly, when I arrive, the alley is empty. "Damn it," I hiss, clenching my fists in anger.

"Kazu!" I look to my right and see Eugeo jogging towards me. "Don't run off like that..."

"I already said I'm sorry," I reply. Eugeo stares at me in expecting me to continue. "I saw Sugou."

"Huh?!" Eugeo exclaims with wide eyes.
