Nervous Habits

I got this idea from someone else, but I'm using my habits instead. Enjoy

*stuttering*
Everyone picked up on this as soon as they met Peter. He would stumble through his sentences and barely be able to get them out. It was endearing, but it could get annoying sometimes. Sam brought it up once and that caused Peter to go silent for about two weeks. Tony got him talking again after he told him how Bruce would like to work with him. He doesn't stutter when talking to the Avengers much, but it hasn't gone away.

*tapping*
Natasha was the first to point it out. Whenever Peter was in a stressful or overwhelming situation, he would start tapping his fingers on whatever surface he could. He would do it on tables, floors, and his legs. It didn't just happen while he was visibly stressed. The only time he didn't do it was while he was sleeping. It was a strange habit.
"Hey Pete," Natasha asked, "why do you tap your fingers against stuff all the time?" The Avengers stopped and looked at the younger boy. His tapping cane to a stop and he looked down.
"I don't know. I just can't stay still. I feel weird and it gets worse when I'm stressed. I honestly don't know, it just started happening." They all nodded and continued what they were doing.

*constant foot movement*
Peter always moved his feet. When he was sitting, he would bounce his legs, cross them, or just roll his ankles. Just like his finger tapping, it was a constant thing. He didn't notice when it was happening unless his feet were being touched. Steve gently put his hand on Peters foot.
"Whats with the bouncing, Pete?" Peter just shrugged while continuing to text Ned.
"Shoes give me anxiety." Everyone looks at him strangely.
"Then... why don't you take them off?" Bruce asked, confused. Peter shrugged again.
"That's worse." The hero's look at each other as they try to figure out how that was possible. Peter sighs and looks up at everyone.
"When I wear shoes, I feel constricted and claustrophobic. When I don't have shoes I feel vulnerable. Does that answer your questions?" Everyone nods.

*humming*
This happened during all situations that could make someone nervous. Prepping for a presentation, going on a mission/patrol, doing homework, and after nightmares. The songs were always the same few bands. Panic! At The Disco, twenty one pilots, fall out boy, AC/DC, and a couple lesser known bands. This was like stuttering, everyone noticed after a few days. But eventually, with some minor begging from the team, the humming became singing when it involved nightmares.

*playing with hair*
It was common and easy to see. When Peter was nervous, he would run his fingers through his hair or curl the hair around his fingers. Sam made fun of him for the last one, which got him a middle finger from Peter and that got a gasp and lecture from Steve. Nothing very interesting.

A/N: sorry I haven't written in a while. Stuff has been happening. Anyways, these are some of my habits. I know some are a little weirder than others, but it's not very noticeable to the people in my class, so I'm fine. I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you, in the next chapter. BUH-BYE!!
