If They Lost Together

Infinity war, but slightly different.

As soon as Thanos left Titan with the stone, Tony stood up and ran towards Stephen.
"You can take us to Earth right? We have a better chance of winning if we're all together." Stephen nods his head and opens a portal. Tony grabs Peters arm and holds onto him as they make their way through. Once they get there, the rest of the team turns to them. Steve gives Tony a soft smile which Tony returns with a nod. He let's go of Peter and walks up to Natasha.
"Troubles headed our way. Don't waste all your energy yet." Natasha smirks at him.
"I'm not the one you need to worry about, Stark." Tony rolls his eyes fondly as everyone continues with their fighting. Only a few seconds later, another portal opens and Thanos walks out. He talks, because villains always seem to do a lot of that, then the team begins their fight. They can't stop him. He got the stone. Tony watched as he took the last piece of Jarvis. His attention doesn't stay on that for long because thunder crashes down and Thor buries his weapon into Thanos' chest. The titan just smiles, speaks in a soft voice to Thor, before snapping his fingers. He disappears again.
"Where'd he go?" They all look around in confusion but not finding anything.
"Steve?" They all turn to Bucky. He falls to the ground and turns to dust. Their eyes continue to travel and they see more and more people fading away. Wanda, Sam, Quill, Groot, and many others. Tony looks to Stephen with a pained expression.
"Why'd you give him the stone?" There was sadness, guilt, and fear in the mans eyes. But also hope.
"There was no other way." He fades away as well. They all look at each other, desperate for answers, and then Tony's heart drops.
"Mr.Stark." Everyone turns as they hear Spider-Man's voice. Their eyes fall on a teenage boy in the suit and they're eyes widen. Tony stands up and he can barely keep his balance.
"You're alright."
"I don't know what's happening." They watch as the kid falls into the mans arms and their hearts break as they hear this child begin to beg.
"I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go. Please." It goes like that for a while before Tony falls to his knees and rests the kid against the ground as he cradled his head. The team watched as the kids eyes look around in fear before landing on Tony and softening.
"I'm sorry." He fades away. Tony falls forward but catches himself before he hits the ground. He twists his body to face forward and puts his hand against his face. He sits there, just staring at the ground as tears run down his face, and Steve slowly makes his way towards the man. He places a hand on Tony's shoulder. He jumps slightly and slaps Steve's hand off. He looks up at him and Steve can see the pain and sadness in his eyes. Steve puts his hand on Tony's shoulder again, trying to comfort him. Rhodey makes his way over and kneels next to Tony as well.
"Hey bud, Let's stand up, yeah?" His voice is a soothing whisper as he speaks. Tony looks up at him. More tears fall down his face as he meets Rhodeys eyes.
"That was my kid." His voice is broken and raw. Rhodey gives him a sad smile before pulling him to his feet and letting Tony lean against him. They all watch as they see the man they thought would never show his vulnerable side break down over a child. Tony looked back towards the dust that was on the ground before determination filled his eyes.
"I'm gonna get you back kid."
